Malaysia’s Border With Thailand - Just This Fence? Visiting A Border Town -Traveling Malaysia Ep 123
Malaysia travel vlog: Malaysia’s border with Thailand - Visiting Padang Besar, a border town right next to Thailand
Welcome to episode 123 of my trip all around Malaysia. If you haven’t seen the previous episodes you can watch them here:
➡️ • Traveling Malaysia - A...
Malaysia roadtrip: Perlis series. I am starting a new roadtrip, together with my friends Steve & Ivana (Jetlag Warriors). This time we are going to explore Perlis, Malaysia’s smallest state, right on the border to Thailand. We are going to stay in Perlis, Malaysia for a few days, exploring around and see what’s going on there. We have heard that Perlis is quite beautiful, so we have to travel to Perlis ourselves to check it out. Let’s see what Perlis has to offer, time for a new Malaysia travel vlog adventure - Perlis roadtrip. This time we are in Padang Besar, which is a small Malaysian kampung right on the border to Thailand. The town is separated, one side is Malaysia, the other one is Thailand. Definitely an interesting stop on our Malaysia roadtrip in Perlis, being so close to Thailand. From our hotel you could even look over into Thailand.
I am currently traveling Malaysia - all around the country - and try to find as many hidden gems and stories as possible. I am going to stay in the Perlis state for a few days, so if you are interested in more Perlis vlogs, Perlis tourguides or Malaysia vlogs in general, stay tuned for more.

The vibe of the 3 of them is very good but they blunder along as foreigners which is amusing but frustrating. Ken alone with local hosts gets the inside scoop better so we share the insights and the chemistry with “Assam Girl” is simply tantalizing!
About 20 years ago, I visited some friends working in Perlis and they even cross over to Thai just to have lunch! And I remembered once we pass through Malaysia immigration by hand gesture only! Well those were the days

Haha...Thailand is just a walking distance away so one can find a lot of Thai food/ clothings/fruits/ cooking utensils in Padang Besar. I used to visit my sister in law who stays there. Before the pandemic, this town was far more bustling, it was packed like sardine. Great that you finally found your favourite football team t-shirt. RM50 for 2 t- shirts was reasonable. I loved the entire video from start to finish. Thanks for the interesting tour.

Great, you finally found your green jersey at Padang Besar, after searching for it all over Asia, and at a great bargain price (thanks to Steve). 👍👍👍🇩🇪

Guys , actually the seller said that the jersey price RM 25 for 1 item . But you guys misunderstood it for RM35 but at the end still manage to get Rm 25 for 2 pieces. Still a good deal .👍👍👍

Both of you are very happy and very pleased at last could find and buy the German team football jersey which you have search all over the countries. At last you found it at the Malaysian border town of Padang Besar near Thailand. All the best to you. Thank you.

my mum's side is from Perlis but now we live in another part of Malaysia, and yes my mum and grandma would drive all the way to Padang Besar, Perlis and go to the famous market there just to get the best ingredients to make our family's traditional food.
I miss my hometown, Padang Besar, Perlis!
They put the snacks in big pack then the buyer can repack into smaller packages and resell it.
Welcome to my hometown! Its been a while i lost track back to my hometown due to crossing restrictions. Hope you enjoy your journey!
Real vlogging here bois. Good content #TeamAbroad
This is amazing, the smallest state in Malaysia and you found your favourite team shirt 😆 #Perlisissosmall 🥰
Just a hint: we have a common time all over Malaysia. Sabah and Sarawak share the same time as the Peninsula although being situated further East ie + 1 hour. Just like Manila or Hong Kong.
Found your team's jersey! So happy for you!!!

I remembered Werder Bremen was a quite popular team shirt to be sell in our local markets (border markets) when Miroslav Klose still playing there. Nowadays it's probably rare. I am shocked that lot of shops didn't have the National Germany jersey though, they have quite big followers among the local football supporters.
Padang besar...🤩🤩 shopping time
Seeing this video, makes me miss padang Besar and all their food.
Speaking of car plates, your car is J, from Johor. The car was registered in the Southernmost state of Malaysia and is now in the Northernmost state of Malaysia!
Wow you guys must have been super happy to find the Werder Bremen jersey! It looks like it's the same sponsor as the one now though, so maybe just a different design?

Ken,you’re super excited to hv found yr jersey but guess the guy’s more than happy 😆

I am glad you found your jersey.
Some of the jersey from other clubs also patterns from fews years ago. I think the pattern for Werder Bremen only from 2013/2014 season and not the latest season because of the performance in Bundesliga. If clubs perform well then jersey maker will produce that pattern.
AWESOME GUYS
Im work at KL. Padang Besar my kampung. Welcome to Perlis.
Nice video, I like your t-shirt
The reason for the difference in time zone between Thailand and Malaysia is due to Malaysia using Borneo (Sabah & Sarawak time zone) time zone for the whole country. The time zone change was done back in the 80s. I remember vividly watching the time change on the prime national news back then. It benefits economically because Malaysia can open roughly the same time as Japan.
Ken are so happy to get werder Bremen jersey..I am so accited to...😁😁😁
not many but its almost rare to see mat salleh here in Perlis actually
I believe that's the 2014 jersey you bought
