    Great review, I’m a huge Makita fan. This definitely looks like a DIY saw. I’m really surprised that Makita doesn’t make more tile cutting tools for professionals like you guys.

    Yes! This is definitely a DIY saw, no questions about that, and I also agree with you on Makita and their lack of tile tools. They should at least attempt a full size 10 inch saw or a small tabletop saw. I'm definitely surprised that they haven't done this at this point. Also, Milwaukee has been growing so fast lately, I'm also surprised they haven't released any tile saws!

  • @LandbergTileTV

    No, I would not use this for a big job. You need a corded saw for a big job.

  • @ron1martens
    @ron1martens4 жыл бұрын

    I have a Job in the bush and don't really require my big machine which is a big wet cutter as I only need to lay tiles over a bath. I may need to trim tiles taking maybe a few millimetre off. That's the worse case scenario. Was that a burn mark on the marble? I guess for the harder tiles like porcelain needing a different blade not the continued rim. Since I will only be cutting ceramic which is 400mm by 200mm I think the blade will work well. I'm thinking of making a jig so if I need small tiles or only take off 2 to 5mm the remaining tile will appear straight. Thanks for the upload.

    ( I'm talking about the one to cut wood, this one for masonry shold easily make straight cuts) Is hard to make straight cuts. good for conceal work and small cuts. i would have rather bought the 6 1/2 inch 18v one since cuts more precisely, deeper cuts and has a light, blower for dust and 45 degree cuts. for a few more bucks. you end up spending up to 200 dollars buying bare tool and have to buy appart one single battery with charger for this small one.

    Yes, you are right. I was pushing the saw too hard through the material. Take your time on your cuts and it will cut better.

    So nobody noticed the saw struggle on the marble cut and eventually broke a chunk off at the end because the guy was forcing it? Then he put his thumb over the bad cut so that his sponsor (makita) wouldn't look bad

    I'm not sponsored by Makita, I purchased this saw with my own money and yes, I did push too hard at the end and it broke 👊👊👊

    I love makita, its pretty much all I have but I can tell you right now that that title saw right there is garbage , 12v? Comon now, it's a disappointing build for makita, 12v = no power = no rpms period.

    I had quite a bit of the old Makita stuff, now I have a lot of 10.8, it's good but I think somehow they've lost their way, quality isn't consistent enough and the 2 milli amp batteries are useless. I had to get two 4 milli amp batteries and they're much better. I hate to say this but other makes like Milwaukee DeWalt have better features..

    it doesn't do precise cuts. i bought it. It likes dancing from side to side when making long cuts. is good for some applications, conceal work etc. bad for precise long cuts. i would have bought better the 6 1/2 inch one.

    Not a bad cut for a hand held saw, but of course a full size 10 inch saw can cut much better. This would mostly be used for notches.

    Sorry i cant justify paying 250$ for the makita potarble saw when there are several other options at a fraction of the cost for a diy’er or a contractor...after all $$ is just as important to a contractor as it is to a diy’er. I cant see how someone in makitas development department thought this tool would be their foot in the door in regards to the tile trade...poorly planned-designed-executed all around imo...i cant see anybody putting this saw in the “must-have it” section of future tool purchases its a 1 trick pony
