Donna, what lovely & conscientious gifts you made; for the K & C's, but ALL of us have now enjoyed seeing & appreciating your thoughtfulness. Your journal's are GREAT!! I have thought about making some, but I never seem to find the time. Lyle's Treacle --- my family is descendants from some Lyles of Scotland. They were said to have invented a sheeps foot dip to get rid of some sort of sheep foot disease.... and then another Lyle in America invented the Lyle gun which was a lifesaving harpoon style "gun" which shot out a boat lifesaver to those floundering in the sea. Seems as if the Lyles were busy people!

James O. Lyle was an early pioneer of 1866 in Lyle, Klickitat county, Washington, and its first post master. (The town being named for him.) He had the typical hard life of a farmer in new rugged country. He was made of stern stuff however having endured privations, ship wreck while coming over the Panama route, and various other adventures typical of pioneer life. In the last year of his life he had a rather noted occurrence. That of having an extensive obituary written up about his death in January of 1909 in the Kilickitat County Agriculturist. This was premature however, as he was only ill and did not die at this time, but recovered, only to pass away later that year in October. The thrifty folks at the Klickitat County Agriculturist, once again placed in their paper the very same obituary they had before, only with date modified. I do not know of any famous thing that James did, but how many folks can say they have had it recorded that they died twice?!

Merry Christmas. Oh my goodness I love your show of course I would stick with you. Kate and Fleur you make me feel like I know you. You make me feel like I am a part of the family. I know I am not but this is how I feel. May next year be even more successful than this one was. By the way a sign of your success: I have heard your name mentioned in most of the other mudlark channels that I watch.💓

The tumbled slag glass reminds me of the pebble sweets we used to get from The Rock Shop in Folkestone, when we were children.

Loved the Gingerbread, it was pretty. You can restring your little doll arms with a, piece of not too stretchy elastic and a crochet hood. Thread the piece of elastic through the arm hole of one arm, pull it through until the ends are even. poke it through the doll to the other side, using a crochet hook to help. Thread the elastic closest to the front, through the front side hole of the arm. Tie the ends together, just once so you can pull the elastic tighter until the arms are in position. Tie the elastic two more times (3 all together) so it stays tied, and you're done. Merry Christmas!

Those gingerbread biscuits looked perfect. I could do with the recipe. Also I loved. those little dolls, stones, scrapbooks ect. Ahhh, and my rat found its way to you. Yes, I do live near Hamelin in a larger city called Bielefeld. (our castle is on the postcard) In Hamelin, before Corona, I went on a rat town tour with the Pied Piper. He was amazing. What a lovely way to start your Christmas and the gingerbread looked amazing! I made sugarplums for the first time this year as I never realised before that they actually contain no plums! You must give them a try sometime too, just dried mixed fruit, orange juice, ground Almonds, candied ginger and marzipan. They take 5 minutes to make and are wonderful ☺️ Enjoy your Christmas break and all the best for the new year ☺️
