Making THIS Flipper Knife (with CNC)

Ойын-сауық

This is the first video of the making of this flipper knife (made entirely using CNC of course!). I'm already a lot of the way through the process ...but better late than never, right?
There are many "issues" with this titanium flipper knife because it is the first one I've machined. They are not significant and really more "tweaks" to the CNC (or CAM) more than anything.
In this video I cover 9 of the issues in just the flipper knife scales alone.

I'm really envious of you man. You just always seem to be moving forward and pushing through with ideas. I've been sitting on a Kickstarter for a few years waiting for the product to be right and you just up and do it. As for machining, wish I could have came and given you a run through the horizontal and lathe. Could have shortened your learning curve dramatically. As for surface finish, if you want to remove the milling marks wet bead blasting works well, leaves a nice satin finish. If not getting a nice custom pattern isn't all the hard, could scallop it a bit with a ball mill or some such Kepp up the good work, see you next year for the next video lol

Yes, just go for the Kickstarter Manny ...the platform is still great (but not what it used to be 5 or 6 years ago). It's not so much a novelty any more for people. Thank you for the info on wet bead blasting - will definitely look into this!

May be next time you should better collect preorders only from production ready prototype that you can actually hold in your hands, rather than a CAD design. People like your honesty like i do, but it is not an excuse for your bad financial decisions and lack of business plan. I think that 3 months of commitment shouldn't extend to a full year without a fully functioning prototype. Please take my thoughts in a positive way because i know you are a hardworking man that have dreams, and i wish you the best of luck for to achieve them.

I have a lot of weaknesses and flaws right now ...and a year ago I had even more of them! Definitely learning. The most progress made in the last couple of years is hiring amazing people. Forces me to not make silly decisions. I appreciate your feedback Vahit - thank you!
