IK im a bit late but: to automatically draw the collision shapes in Godot you select a Sprite2D node and iirc click those three dots in the toolbar. Then there is an option in the list where you can turn the sprite into a CollisionPolygon2D ;)

I really like the idea of ​​the game mechanics, even though the game lacks polish it is still fun to play

Idk if you'd consider it because you wouldn't be able to have organic shapes but maybe you could use the 2D tileset feature in godot to speed up the level creation and collision creation

I love the game, i didn't finish it in the end but that was bcs i didn't have much time. i think this would be a great game. I came up with a game mechanic, i don't know how much it would fit this type of game but i thought about being able to go into your shell so you can roll and not stick and then maybe you would have some sort of slides that you can go on

This is very nice, and looks rather silly. It feels like a Getting Over It type of game. Those dont need a ton of polish, but having some woukdnt hurt. It seems like itd be a lot of fun if it had a full release and possibly nore consistent snail control for fun tech

Biggest tip: Study videos, thumbnails, and titles. See what works, what doesn’t, and try to understand why. If you see a channel with a 1m view video and the rest are less than 10k views, try to find the difference and figure out why that one blew up. As much as I hate doing voiceovers, I think it’s super important to keep your content engaging. I try turning my devlog into a story that’s easy for a typical person to understand (but I still have a lot to improve on). You’ll have a much larger audience if you focus on entertaining the typical person rather than other developers. Also, developers are typically already stretched thin by all that goes into it so they’re probably not watching a ton of entertainment videos about making games.

@@hashkeyTheDev good luck! I also want to say don’t worry about making the perfect game/video just focus on getting something finished. Also don’t get discouraged if you aren’t seeing immediate results. It takes a long time

You should 100% percent add cosmetics if you plan on making this into a real game, like a purchased character pack, and maybe even add some free cosmetics too!

One thing to add would have been a click sound when you shoot with no ammo

i’d love to make some vector art for one of your projects sometime!

actually even sub 20s might be possible. my best is 1:01:021 but i had a lot of missed jumps and can greatly be improved. btw there are a lot of skips in the game that is why it is possible to get such times. very good game

there's also a small mix of stick with it

this is so 2016 and I love it

What’s really funny is that the concept of launching yourself with a gun reminds me of a game made specifically to show ways games try and reduce the chance of rage… so the opposite of this game.

Just a game that you have to sit there for 2 hours and hit a button every 30 minutes with zero indication for the timing.
