Making the Donut $10,000 K Swap Engine Harness
By Brian Gillespie and Aaron Gaghagen
You already know we went to Inglewood Propulsion Laboratory to help our buds at Donut K swap their Civic EG project. If you don't know, WTF?!?! It's literally their most viewed video of 2023 so far. Also, we did a video of our trip with some cool behind the scenes video and show everything needed to do a K swap in a 5th gen Civic. So if you didn't already, go watch those too! Today's video is much different and very tech-y. Brian shows you how to make a custom k swap wiring harness from the Integra Type R harness that came with their engine just like the one used in the Donut EG by doing the harness from the actual car.

I aleays wondered why no one is using 8th gen Si /euro fn2 type r ecu and harness. It has dbw , plenty of ecu tuning options that cable lacks, multiple maps with switching on the fly possible. Maybe you could make a video on kswaps using 8th gen si ecu?

Can you make a video on what you would need to do to make a d serie civic into a awd system?

@ VTEC Academy I am interested in doing a k20 swap into a 5th gen prelude. I think it would be a cool idea to turn a 5th gen prelude rwd with a k20. So in other words if isn’t too much to ask further into the future could you get it done? Thanks! VTEC Academy.

There has got to be a better way of connecting the adapter harness's 4 extra wires to the car without using those tap in splices supplied by most companies. Had one sheer the 12v wire on my base engine harness and now I have to fix that lol.

Wish there was a conversion harness for a 89 EF with a K20z1.
