I put the neck from the donor BMX bike into the front fork and cut a piece of the handlebar to fit in there to hold a handlebar headlight and front reflector.

I think the next long John cargo bike I make I'm going to use cable steering, it's just easier to route along the frame and gives the bike a cleaner overall look.

I agree. I am not overly impressed thus far with this linkage. I've already bent the first 1/4" version and am making a 3/8" version.

@@HooptieDoodle For the final version of my long John cargo bikes steering rod I used 100 wall thickness 1" tubing. I had to use swiveling tie rod ends on both ends because I didn't make the head tube straight down like it is on most long John's resulting in a steering rod that has side to side movement.
