Making Schizo Powder (PCMO)

Ғылым және технология

This is not a tutorial and shouldn’t be replicated. For educational purposes only. This involves an old and dangerous route, used as an example only, not because it is the safest or ‘best’. Reaction releases deadly hydrogen cyanide that can only be contained with an appropriate fume hood or trap.

When I (didn't) do it, I used potassium cyanide to form the nitrile intermediate instead of the sulfate. I'm guessing using morpholine, you have to form the sulfate first? The phenyl grignard reacts directly with the nitrile to give you your product arylcyclohexylamine, if you use piperidine. The first sulfonation step wasn't necessary for that.

Going through the bisulfite adduct allows you to avoid generating stoichiometric HCN with strong acid during cyanohydrin formation, which is a major hazard since HCN boils at 26 °C and would be fuming invisibly from the reaction mixture. The bisulfite adduct forms a small amount of the ketone through its equilibrium and the bisulfite ion acts as a mild acid to form small amounts of HCN over time and/or protonate the final cyanohydrin. Small amounts of carbonyl and HCN means few side reactions and minimal poisonous gas generation.

I’ve never liked people referring to psychedelics or dissociatives as “psychotomimetic.” Veeery early on in their discovery, some scientists did kind of dismissively assume “Oh, LSD is altering your consciousness in this extremely complex & hard to characterize way… This must be what it’s like to experience psychosis!” But this is a profound mischaracterization, which is why (at least for most 5HT2a receptor agonists), it’s largely been dropped as we’ve come to understand both psychotic mental illness AND psychedelics better. The fact that people are still inclined to talk about PCP this way probably has more to do with media sensationalism than anything (though I’ve never done PCP & can’t say for sure)- from what I’ve heard it’s really just more stimulating than other dissociatives & therefore not suitable as a tranquilizer/anaesthetic. Beyond that difference… Like, sure, there are people who freak out & have mishaps on it, & I’m not saying people necessarily should be using it, but people freak out & have mishaps on too high a dose of all kinds of things. That doesn’t necessarily mean it was truly comparable to psychosis. I think psychotomimetic is a perfectly reasonable label for deliriants, & really that they’re the class which should’ve been labeled this way from the beginning… Completely hallucinating whole scenarios/people/conversations/animals/shadow people/etc. that aren’t there; hearing schizophrenia-like voices in your head; extreme fear/paranoia; extreme confusion & disorientation/disconnection from reality… These are the very psychosis-like symptoms of deliriant poisoning, or having intentionally taken Amanita Muscaria mushrooms, or diphenhydramine, or whatever- terrifying, awful, nightmarish stuff which I strongly suspect TRULY comes as close to simulating what a psychotic condition like schizophrenia as any chemical can induce… There’s not much else to it- those are the primary effects. You JUST feel like you’re losing your mind & living in a waking nightmare. On the other hand, dissociatives have considerably more interesting content to them, & far fewer of the truly psychosis-like symptoms. I’ve rarely heard or someone taking ketamine, or MXE, or DXM, or even PCP & legitimately hearing terrifying whispering or screaming in their head for hours they they just couldn’t shake off (whereas I’ve heard of people taking Amanita Muscaria extract 1 time in not that high of a dose & experiencing those kinds of symptoms for DAYS or WEEKS afterwards). You don’t have true hallucinations or dissociatives… You may have beautiful closed eye visuals, but that’s quite different from a nightmarish waking dream state where you literally don’t know what’s real & what’s not. I’d place dissociatives more as a middle-ground, because they do have a tendency to induce some delusions (usually just during the experience, which is why the issues mainly come about in cases of addiction/dependency, where someone is taking them all the time & never getting a breath of air from that state & assessing their experiences from a more lucid, rational perspective). Classical 5HT2a agonist psychedelics, IMO, are the farthest from “psychotomimetic” of any of these. I think it really was just ignorance that led to this labeling for LSD & psilocybin & the like early on; keep in mind that it was being applied so early on that we were only just even learning that serotonin had anything to do with mood/behavior- in the very earliest days of the discovery of LSD & it’s effects. It’s very much a vestige of an impoverished earlier state of psychopharmacological & psychiatric research. The effects induced by psychedelics like these may seem very chaotic & overwhelming, especially to the uninitiated, to someone who didn’t know what they were getting themselves into, or to someone who takes an excessive dose for their first time & plunges in deeper than they’re ready for… But upon the kind of deeper inspection that mystics & shamans have been giving these experiences/states for ages, & the kind that psychedelic scientists & “psychonauts” have more recently devoted themselves to, there’s actually a profound & beautiful order to that chaos; the fact that it’s unpredictable & too complex for our minds to easily put in a box, to reduce & identify with some very simple pattern or experience we’re familiar with, doesn’t mean that it’s actually untethered from reality or random or meaningless or in any way equivalent to symptoms of psychosis. And especially as classical psychedelic doses increase (besides n,n-DMT, which seems to go in exactly the opposite direction), you move towards boundary dissolution & ultimately full ego-death & mystical experience… Which is quite wildly different from any kind of psychosis. There’s really no comparison. If anything I think it romanticizes psychosis to compare it to something as favorable as psychedelic experience. Even in the fringe cases where someone has a predisposition to mental illness & psychedelics catalyzed the precipitation of a psychotic state, the psychosis it precipitates is going to be very different from the psychedelic state itself.

Great info! I have schizoaffective disorder. Used to get real gnarly voices constantly. Very disturbing and bothersome. During IV ketamine therapy, no voices whatsoever. No more depression. Neurogenesis from activating glutamate is the way in my case. I also was put on an atypical antipsychotic that activates 5HT1a receptors and is a dopamine agonist. No voices for months now. The manufacturer doesn’t know exactly how it works, because from what my doctor step mom says, chemicals produced by the brain have so many roles that they are still discovering. Mushrooms are a joy. Never had a bad trip. I don’t do them often though. Not for everyone, of course. Some minds just can’t handle it, whereas mine relaxes.

The medicinal chemistry stuff is extremely interesting! Keep it up! Did you keep the aqueous layer from that neutral solution at the end? If so you easily could have remedied the error, and included the result in the video. All well. Is 5-MeO-MiPT controlled in the Netherlands? If not, that could be an interesting project. You could start from melatonin by conversion into 5-MeO-Tryptamine. Then reductive alkylation with one molar equivalent of acetone, and an excess of STAB-H (prepared ex-situ from borohydride, and 3 equivalents AcOH in THF, or DCE). Followed by the reductive alkylation with sodium hydroxymethylsulfinate, excess Et3N, and STAB-H under similar conditions. Both reductive alkylation reactions can be conducted in a one-pot operation. I think doing these reactions in that order is absolutely necessary to avoid formation of the dimethyl substituted product due to the steric bulk of the isopropyl group. For the same reason, the formation of the diisopropyl product by a second reductive alkylation is unlikely to occur. Furthermore, while this compound is certainly active, I don’t think 5-MeO-MiPT has much value recreationally. If I’m wrong the use of succinaldehyde to give 5-Methoxy-N,N-tetramethylenetryptamine (5-MeO-pyrrolidyltryptamine) would be an interesting alternative. The methoxy group could also be swapped for an ethoxy, or similar group by starting with 5-hydroxytryptophan. Thus, decarboxylation to serotonin, protection of the amino group as an amide (or carbamate), Williamson ether synthesis to give the desired alkoxy group, deprotection, and finally the reductive alkylation sequence would give the desired analog. This gives a large degree of freedom to design a compound that is certainly inactive. For example, 5-Propoxy-Pyrrolidyltryptamine; there’s no way that is active, so it could make for a cool project without legal worries.

@@ZoruaZorroark Yeah I would be. But I am also really asking you. What do you mean with those messages exactly. How and where do they appear? And what do they say? Because you even mentions Google, do you mean in the search engine Google or something else? There is a lot of things "Google". For him it seems he would go on unhinged rants so bad, that he claimed staff of KZread would contact him by sending him emails to talk to him about getting help. And considering how KZreads "moderation" seem to be just an AI bot censoring things. Up until straight up banning your whole life as in Google accounts, if you go too far of the rails. This whole "getting contacted" and it does not happen to anyone else. Seem to me to very possible be connected to schizo delusions in his case. But if it really does in happen in reality, I am very curious how and where it happens and after what kind of interaction you did? And just to be clear, me saying that it does not happen to anyone else. Does not mean it is not happening. I can not know that, but I just know about one other case, and now two with you, reported instance of something like that happening. And you know about the other guys problem. And you are saying this on a video about dissociative substances, so am sure you get why I could suspect and have a reasonable suspicion that it could be that it is a delusion in your case also. We all know how wonky things can get for people who have an affinity for dissociatives. Because most seem to have the reverse problem, that getting any sort of interaction or "support" from KZread or Google seems to be impossible. Even many channels with millions of subs can't get a any support from a human for example. I just comment a lot and have been in lots of discussions on this plattform about various intricacies on how the limitations works on the comment system we have here. Personally I would find it kind of nice if there really is humans that care enough, to ask us to get help if we need it. But I am afraid reality does not work like that. Just because it seem to be reported so exceedingly rare. And I also don't want to go around and claiming that it does not happen if it really does happen. So it would be great if you could give me more details to figure out if this mysterious contacts, from the staff overlords on KZread/Google really is a thing they do and how it manifests.

@@ZoruaZorroark If it is a message you get that pop up in the browser when you are just using Google to search and it happened after you clicked on some link. It is very likely some kind of spam ad for some kind of health services, the Web is filled with such things. And not Google the company trying to send you a message. Because they really don't do it like that. Although the very recently introduced a notification icon where they can send us updates in the Google search just like we have a on the KZread app and site. If they where to send some kind of a message I bet it would be either thorough email or to the notification thing. I had a friend who was diagnosed with schizo affective disorder. And he would see patterns and get messages from powerful people, celebrities, intuitions and companies all the time. It was all his delusions who made him think that though, he misinterpreted regular things as something much more significant than they really was and saw patterns and connections where they really was non. And he was quite disturbed. I am not saying you are that. Just that it is very unlikely that Google are sending you messages like that. But them again that have some disturbing privacy implications. If Google would be follow and spying on some of us like that. You know what the paranoid say, it is not paranoid if they actually are after you :) The closest I know they do is if you are acting to unhinged is they send you a message in KZread, telling you can't post messages in some time like 24 hours or a week or something. I don't remember exactly because it have never happened to me. But in some of those discussions I spoke about KZread comments limitations. There was a bunch who reported having gotten such messages. But no one besides that one guy said anything about get help messages. And because he said he got them to his email and you said you got them in the search site in the browser, that makes it even less likely that it is even the same thing, if it is a thing that originates from Google the company. Anyway if it happen again take a video of it with your phone and ask someone else about it to get a second opinion. Maybe it does happen....

It's not likely a chronic toxin or carcinogen, so a chemist is probably more likely to be casual handling it (with gloves) than a lot of other things. I remember being at that party but left before anything f ed up happened. Somehow he got home that night and was freaking out and his parents called the rescue, but two cops showed up also. He was trying to fight the cops and from what they said he tried to grab one's gun. (Back then the cops weren't psycho like they are now). He ended up in a locked ward in a mental hospital for about a week. He told me he went nuts when he was at home in his room and the giant mice attacked him

Please do some stuff with non nitazines non -tramadol based opiates / opiods. I really want to learn how to extract the alkaloids from dried poppy pods I think I need to use ion exchange resin.
