Making putts from a distance (without changing your putting style) | Disc Golf Basics
Спорт
In this video Johannes (has played disc golf for 25 years) is showing me (very much of a beginner) how to do the jump putt. And also about what rules to keep in mind when jump putting. It´s also about how to do a similar move - the step putt.
My experience as a beginner:
I found jump putting quite hard. Definetly need to work on it and the next time I´ll try it when not standing in the middle of a skie slope. Note that it felt pretty level when filming. But looks otherwise on camera, haha 😂.
We´re hoping you´ll enjoy the video. Do let us know what you think or if there´s something you think is missing. Have a great day 😀

Genius. I have a decent jump putt, but for some reason I never thought to just jump... Without a disc... See what gives me the most power. Then add in the disc and timing. I may end up scaring my wife if she wakes up to me jumping around the bedroom.

The step putt is criminally underrated. I think it's a much more consistent approach for most players.

Hey, Mike. That´s the thing. I don´t practice really as I want what we´re filming to be real. Like if I don´t know a thing I want to be able to (with 100 precent realness) say that I don´t know it - if that makes sense. But when I´m going to compete in a tournament then I´ll practice. And then try to incorporate different drills etc. in upcoming videos. I´m glad you like the videos :) /Jonathan

its awkward or maybe thats my personality 😂😂
Hi! Love your channel! Quick question, in the begining of the video, Johannas says that you can ad power to your putt also by extending your arm. Is it more effective and accurate to jump putt or juste to extend your arm? Or Simply just a preference of style? It will be maybe a nice video to compare the two. Thank you!

@@Latitude64 the further away from the basket you are the less likely you’re going to get it into the basket, so if you’re going for a low score or personal best and you’re jump/step putt distance away, just land the disc close enough to tap it in. Easier said than done of course, I always go for the basket, doesn’t matter how far away I am 😅

“Why do you want to jump putt?” “Because everyone else is doing it..”
Its a bit weird to show that style of jump putt only and only one style of step put.. The more common one imo is to jump putt staggered and to step putt off the power on your front leg not your back leg.

I'm so bad at jump putting I usually just either putt with my normal stance or just throw the disc. My jump putts just keep missing high and right by a lot

Try to make the same putting stroke, ie for me straight back and straight through making sure to flick my wrist well before my arm is fully extended almost as soon as I move the disc forward
@1andonlyMiro

@@christopherowens7462 this could be useful on uphill putts or sometimes when I have a certain footing, otherwise I feel like I can just use my regular putt up to around 25m as soon as I get to playing more disc golf.
