Making Pens Out Of Shredded Money!

Making a pen out of shredded £5 notes I got sent which were destined for destruction. I cast shredded money from the UK, I am pretty sure no one has done this with money from the UK before, if you know of anyone please comment down below!
In this video i go throught the process of making a pen out of shredded money, casting with alumilite resin and turning a pen on the lathe, and finishing up with applying a CA finish to the pen.
Thank you for watching!

Thank you all so much for watching and sharing my video! I am overwhelmed with how many people have shared my videos and it makes me so happy to know that my videos are reaching millions of people around the world! Just to let you know I have recently set up a patreon page to help me so I can cut down the hours at work and have a day a week to make more content of everyone of you! (Instead of working from 8pm to well past 1am most nights when I am making and editing videos, it's the only time I have spare!) If you could spare a dollar or two per video it would mean the world to me and when I get to $100 per creation to give something back I will be doing a prize draw every new video to win one of my pens to one lucky pateron! Click here to see my patreon page and the other things I give to my paterons! www.patreon.com/user?u=24368205 Thank you for taking the time to read this and as always, thanks for watching 😁

You surely are talented and you must have great love for your craft. I love it, it's elegant and beautiful. Plus, it's a great conversation starter! P.S. I also like the fountain kit you used. It matches perfectly. Can you give a link for the source of this fountain kit?

A very different idea - unfortunately I need all the money I can lay my hands on to buy more woodworking tools. Can't afford to turn it into pens. Perhaps you could sell some of these pens to James Bond / 007 fans as "MONEYPENny's" OK - I'll go back to my lathe now after that bad joke. Another great video.

😂😂 well it made me laugh! I would sell these blanks but one of the conditions of me having the shredded money was I can not sell it for a profit, so these are probably going to be for me and gifts, I would love to share them with everyone but I don't want to get into trouble with the bank of England really lol, I do like the marketing to bond fans though, that's a great idea!

@@he-mansuncle7661 When they are out and about in the hands of the public, bank notes take quite a beating. Eventually, they return to a bank, if they are damaged (torn, written on, altered or defaced) the bank will send them back to the treasury to be destroyed. They do this by shredding and/or dye, then freshly minted notes are returned into circulation.

I don’t know if this works but why don’t you put the first resin mix used to make it a vacuum, and then the second one after the first one is done and the mix them and add it too a vacuum again? Would you have less air bubbles if you do this?

Took me a few videos to realize what was bugging me. You dry sand your CA finish. I don't know if that's normal in some places, but most videos I've seen do wet sanding on the finish. And that's my approach, too. Can't argue with your results though. But i do wonder if wet sanding to 12k grit instead of dry sanding to 3k grit would make much of a difference.
