Qué nivel de dedicación y amor a tu arte debes tener para mover docenas de personas, millones de dolares, toneladas de materiales, subir y bajar montañas literalmente, por más de un año entero de tu vida. Im glad this movie wasnt the internationally known big block buster movie. It would've been an entirely different movie. This was a love letter to the survivors and it has that feel. Everything from the special effects to getting unknown Latin American actors to play the tole of the survivors.

Are you conscious that Latin America is a region that goes from Mexico to Tierra del fuego, right? Because all the actors belong to the Rio de la Plata region and Latin America is too big and has plenty of different linguistic and cultural nuances that I suspect norhtern people don't know.

For me the only reason why Society of the Snow isn't nominated for more Oscars is pure envy! The Jury knows exactly what kind of masterpiece this movie is. J.A. Bayona mad history with this movie and that is all that matters. He is getting the respect, love and appreciation from millions of people all over the world, with or without an Oscar❤

Cómo se nota el espíritu rioplatense en el grupo de actores, los cantitos de fútbol, el mate, las cargadas, el pogo...y el carisma en cada respuesta. Son personas sensibles, amigueras, seguramente similares a aquellos pibes que de la noche a la mañana tuvieron que hacerse grandes, ¡enormes!, para superar juntos el desafío mayor que se le puede exigir a un ser humano. Me conmueve mucho este documental, y me confirma por qué la película salió tan bien. Bayona y su equipo, expertos cineastas, con un nivel de compromiso que pocas veces se habrá visto, y los valores humanos necesarios para contener al grupo de actores y llevarlos a realizar semejante labor. Impresionante.

No me cansaré de ver ni la película ni este documental, he leído y visto mucho acerca de este suceso, que es por demás inspirador. El equipo lo ha hecho fenomenal, aún sabiendo tantas cosas y detalles no puedo evitar llorar cada vez que la miro. He llorado de tristeza, de orgullo, de felicidad, al igual que con el libro de Viercy, el de Parrado, el de Canessa, el de Paez, de Paez Vilaró...es conmovedor todo.

Esta difícil este año, porque se coló La Zona de Interes, en película extranjera que esta nominada a muchos Oscars, incluyendo también mejor película categoría principal, de esas películas raras que le encanta premiar a los de los Oscars, y eso no es buena señal para las nominadas a pelicula extranjera, porque generalmente ganan las extranjeras nominadas a muchos Oscars, y La Sociedad solo tiene 2 nominaciones nada mas, ojala gane pero....esta complicado en este panorama.

Yesterday, I got so wrapped up in watching "Society of the Snow" that I completely forgot it had just dropped on Netflix because I was swamped with my thesis. But let me tell you, that movie is Oscar-worthy! Every single person involved, from the crew to the actors, absolutely killed it, from the cinematography right down to the fashion. It's easily my new favorite flick. Here's hoping everyone behind it, on and off the screen, keeps on riding the wave of positivity. 💚🍀

Estoy llorando, de verdad es creo q hasta ahora en mis 25 años la mejor película que he visto. Que gran mensaje, que excelente dirección, equipo, actores y darles voz a todos los que no regresaron es algo que me llena no teniendo nada que ver en la historia de verdad, son personas desconocidas que ahora sentimos tan cercanas. No se por qué no tiene una nominación al Óscar pero sin duda se la merecía (a mejor película) porque se que está nominada a película extranjera. Me emociono solo de hablar de la peli. Divina de verdad

An incredible documentary on the making of this superb film. Seeing the relatives of those who died, particularly the daughter of Liliana and Javier Methol, brought tears to my eyes. I've been with this story since reading "Alive" back in 1976 and for me this journey with all of the survivors, those who did not return, and the two films from 1976 and 1993 that did not tell THIS story, I feel there is finally an accounting of those 72 days in the Valley of Tears. Seeing Nando, Roberto, Carlitos, Eduardo, and Coche were special indeed. Seeing the amount of excellence the cast including Enzo, Agustin, Matias, Kuku, Delle Corte, and the rest all put in to bring this story to life I have only to say a humble, thank you. And to both Bablo Vierci and JA Bayona for finally telling this story as it should have been told, through the hearts of the survivors and the ones who did not return makes my heart fill to overflowing. Thank you to Netflix for having faith in this project. My subscription is well placed.

This film is a MASTERPIECE

Película impresionante, me hace llorar cada vez que la veo, que son 5 y contando. En todas las repeticiones me enseña algo nuevo. Estoy pasando por un momento de lucha mental y espiritual, veo esta historia retratada cinematográficamente y siento que me hace recapacitar. Casi terapéutica es la experiencia. Pocas películas me tocan así. Que Dios bendiga a todos quienes lean mi comentario, a los creadores de esta obra, a los sobrevivientes y a los fallecidos, QEPD. Edit: Quiero añadir que se nota un cambio muy grande en personalidad de los actores, considerando sus testimonios antes y después de la escena del alud. Enzo por ejemplo, se expresa diferente: al principio se veía “más niño”, después se nota una madurez en su semblante. En la película, también se refleja, sobretodo sabiendo que el accidente se graba posterior al periodo representado de los 72 días que pasaron los sobrevivientes en la montaña.

Gracias Bayona por darnos la película que los sobrevivientes, los héroes que quedaron allá arriba, los familiares y el resto del mundo merecía. Estamos tan acostumbrados al contenido basura lleno de CGI que ver una película hecha con tanta veracidad y detalle realmente emociona, el respeto y la dedicación se nota en cada escena, es refrescante ver lo que se puede lograr cuando se hacen bien las cosas. Gracias a cada uno que formó parte por entregarnos esta obra maestra.

I am 51 years old and for me it is also the best movie I've ever seen ❤

I am really impressed with the lighting because they got it right. Any beautiful set but with the wrong lighting can change the mood and setting on screen. Their use of it accentuated everything. Brava!

Now THIS is filmmaking. The fact that Hollywood wants to get rid of practical effects and sets and filming on location for AI - it just sickens me. I really hope filmmakers like JA Bayona will continue to fight against that and make films the way they want too. What a gorgeous work of art.

Numa Turcatti is a legend. He died so the others could live. He is the real hero.

Hasta el detrás de escena es emocionante❤... que OBRA DE ARTE realizó Bayona y que equipo hermoso y comprometido fueron todos desde los actores hasta los maquilladores, efectos especiales etc... No me canso de ver la peli. NECESITO QUE HAGAN ALGO CON LAS ESCENAS QUE QUEDARON AFUERA.. PLIS!!!

Seeing the filming process was fascinating. I just can’t stop thinking how all of this (esp the avalanche where they used rubber suitcases to not hurt the actors) actually happened and probably 100000x worse. It amazes me how the real people in this story survived.
