Bro this is insane. I thought they filmed it for real on the mountain. It looks so realistic. This is how CGI is supposed to look. They have that perfect balance of CG and practical.

they did try filming in the andes for two days but the weather was too cold so they filmed it in spain instead (also a mountain) and parts in the studio

You should watch the other 2 movies ! One Mexican film and American film

I am from Gujarat, India. In childhood I had read the story of a football team that got lost in the Great Andes moutains while flying on a DC-3 Fairchild aircraft. After 30 years I am going to witness the most realistic cinematic version of that bone chilling tale of survival of Nando and his team.Hats off to the director and entire crew to bring this epic story forth through netflix.

DC-3 is another airplane model. The one involved in the 571 flight is a Fairchild FH-227. American version of the Dutch airplane Fokker F27.

This story is unimaginable, horrifying, heartbreaking and beautiful all at the once. Absolutely LOVED the film, extremely emotional as it should be

I’ve researched this crash extensively in the past. So glad they made a movie on it, a VERY well made movie at that. It’s 2 & 1/2 hours long but felt like only 10 minutes. It captivates you. You truly feel what that rugby team must have felt while watching this. Highly recommend!

Las grandes obras solo se logran con gente super detallista, sin dudas es muchísimo mejor que la versión de Hollywood más allá de la diferencia de años.

Ambas son buenas, hay que considerar que la diferencia de recursos técnicos marcan la diferencia, son diferentes tiempos. Lo mismo para la película de 1976

⁠@@EyoneCATampoco la pude terminar a pesar de que igual tuve consideración que es una película bastante antigua comparación con la de ahora, pero me pareció muy arrogante y con un toque de comedia que no me cayó nada bien, y el solo hecho de que sea en inglés se me hizo una burla a la misma y verdadera historia.

​@@CRIMINARQ,aparte de lo técnico ,la historia en si está es más fiel ,en cuanto a lo técnico pues en 30 años obvio el vídeo cambio muchísimo ,pero está curiosamente emplearon técnicas orgánicas ,nada de CGI ,para hacerlo más realista como tiene que ser ,no se diga más ,es una buena película ,más dramática y conmovedora q la del 93,q es buena también ,la del 76 tendría q verla ,creo es 74 ,y es pdrcn mexicana ,.cosa curiosa ,pero el cine ,aparte del español. Argentino y en pqña parte uruguayo ,ha avanzado mucho ,argentina saca historias y buenas producciones ,el talento artístico es ya casi superior al resto de LATAM ,.pero bien x el cine latino en grnl ,lástima q no piense así de mi país ,q produce cada media esperpentos para pasar mal rato

This movie exudes TALENT, it is a masterpiece, you literally feel you are there. Incredible director and incredibly talented actors, so young yet giants. Congrats to you all and thanks for this beautiful product of art. I absolutely love that some of the survivors acted in the movie as well ❤

Desde los 13 años que leí el libro Viven, la tragedia de los Andes. He estado obsesionada con esta historia de supervivencia. Me he visto cuanto documental, película, leido los libros y esta película es la que mejor retrata lo que seguramente vivieron. Trasmite las emociones de manera magistral, la angustia, el frio, la tristeza, la impotencia...todo! un aplauso de pie para su director, actores y en general todos los que participaron de ella.

What an amazing movie. Hats off to all the talented people who worked on this project. Hope you guys win the Oscar.

It's truly spectacular what these filmmakers did. I am blown away by their use of practical effects and their seamless CGI integration. They absolutely succeeded in immersing the audience, although I am an aspiring filmmaker, so I couldn't help but wonder how they did everything while watching!!

This was the best most emotional capturing movie ever. The actors, the work that went into it. The realism. Everything. Was spot on. It really made u realize and get a better detailed of how it really went

The plane crash in the 1993 movie, “Alive,” was so terrifyingly realistic, and the behind-the-scenes filing of it was so amazing. I can’t even imagine how good-AND TERRIFYING-special effects 31 years later will make this. Looking forward to this movie! UPDATE: I saw the movie; it was really good! I didn’t see much difference in the crash scenes. I did a lot of reading online after watching this movie and apparently this movie does more closely follow the story of how things overall occurred.

Alive had so many errors, like the pilots drinking mate like it was a cup of tea, and other stuff that was just ignorance of the director, this movie was made with the actual survivors, they even appeared in a lot of scenes from the Montevideo airport.

The most incredible film I’ve ever seen.

Incredible work by film makers to replicate the same story and which is beyond imagination. Just watched the movie and the emotion felt is just "SPEECHLESS".

Esta película es simplemente ESPECTACULAR! Todo twn detallista, los actores que lo dieron todo fisica y mentalmente, el equipo, la dirección, absolutamente todo es perfecto. Un placer ver esta historia tan emocionante de la mano de gente que ama contar historias

Al fin vamos a poder ver una reconstrucción mas precisa de los hechos, ya que como se ve en el video se grabó el mismo lugar donde sucedieron los hechos en Los Andes, luego se agregaron esos fondos a lo grabado en España con los actores en el fuselaje, dando la sensación final de que estan en el lugar real.

Seguro... una de las mejores películas que ha hecho Netflix.

Al igual que "Lo Imposible" esta película es una joya , J.A Bayona es un capo , realmente una belleza de película. (He llorado:"n)

Finally a great movie! Even when i knew most of the story it was thrilling, intence, warm and definitely cold. There are many characters to portray, but they nailed it, whit the scenes from the airport, showing who they left behind, you could feel for all of them. Loved it!

What a masterpiece of a movie! Great job to the actors and producers and everyone involved …really felt like I was living that experience. Amazing 👏

Hay que verlo en el cine no en Netflix en casa, es espectacular, al fin una película para decir que este año vi algo bueno de verdad.

So happy their story gets to be told again!! I lived in Uruguay for 4 years and got to meet Roberto Canesa at a South African function , he was invited because he travels there as he is a doctor. We spoke and he was so humble he actually said to me that he’s been through so much and he just appreciates life. He actually tried to rent out his house in Carrasco to us. Also got to meet Carlos Paez in Punta Del Este and he was also awesome to talk to and you could see how much love he has for his son Carlitos whom he never gave up on! I hope this film gets the accolades it deserves because honestly if I’ve learned one thing from it, it’s that the human spirit will always come in clutch when you need it the most 💚💚RIP to those who passed
