@@cristinavallesselmaccri4180 100%. I was thinking the same thing. I'm from South Asia and not yet married but I was thinking that if I ever got married and had a son, I would name him Numa. I also read the book on which this movie is based on and I was moved by the character of Numa. And Mr. Vogrincic's acting was so visceral that I was blown away. This is one of the best movies to come out in years. Better than Oppenheimer by a stretch in my opinion.

you can see how alike enzo is to numa and matias is to roberto numa was described to be rlly quiet and reserved which enzo was like this whole interview and roberto was described as stubborn and he would do alot of the talking and decision making which matias was doing during this interview and he was said to be stubborn like roberto. AMAZING casting choices, i dont think anyone could do better!

What a wonderful conversation. You can see it in the film, and here too, how much love and respect there is for the survivors and those who died, and 100% dedication in telling the story right. You can even tell Javier has the utmost respect for the actors and Bayona and the finished project.

Man, the story Enzo tells at 10:00 minutes in. Warms my heart and breaks it at the same time. This story has had a hold over me for many, many years, and I'm so happy Numa got a voice.

As someone who has been with this story since 1976 after reading Piers Paul Read's book. Then through the horrible "Survive" from 1976, then to Hollywood trying to interpret what is largely a story American actors refused to allow themselves to embrace, "Society of the Snow" is an emotional accomplishment on a scale I don't think I understand quite yet. The performances by Enzo, Matias, Agustin, and the rest were nothing short of brilliant. Bayona's directing was so beautiful, and the time and dedication it took to bring this to life is in every single frame of the film. After all the books and documentaries I've experienced with this story, I don't think I've seen the men of this story told quite like this. I felt I was up there in The Valley of Tears with them. I felt each and every single beat with my heart. Thank you all for such an incredible film. It was so needed. As for the Spanish language. I'm English Canadian. For me I need the spice in my life. The accents from the actors put me there. Their dedication put me there. For the run of the film I was transfixed. Thank you for such an impactful film full of heart.

Hands down one of the greatest movies ever.

What an amazing interview with such depth and sensitivity by all. Hats off to Javier who asks all the right questions, analyses it correctly and shuts up completely when others are deep into it and jumps back only to move the conversation furthur. A lessor for all to learn on how to interview and be a moderator at the same time. Love from India!

This movie is amazing. It never feels exploitative or overly melodramatic.

Enzo is perfect! My goodness! Also Matias is so absolutely awesome in his performance of Canessa, he really showed that stoicism of Canessa. That will to thrive

The actors did so much with exchanging looks or in general looking at each other. There are so many moments. Numa looking at Roberto when he mentions that they have to eat the bodies. Roberto looking after Nando like a proud father when he enters the helicopter. Nando looking at Roberto when he fixes his shoe instead of giving up on him…

they did great in casting new faces. i hope they get works as amazing as this film and continue to thrive, and if possible get to work with each other again on a new film!

I have said this a million times. From just causing fear, sadness or joy, this film causes thirst, desperation, true despair, this film causes coldness, tiredness, hopelessness. This film is very insane because it makes you think you ARE IN THE PLANE. IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE. Its insane that it makes you transport your whole being to 1972. And just for that, it deserves the oscar

It is because of how it was being filmed. You always have the feeling to be amongst the people sitting in the plane. Mostly from Numas POV. I realised that when I rewatched the movie.

I got the same feeling with this one and with The Impossible (directed by JA Bayona as well). You feel you are about to drown, you feel as though you are cold and tired. Even though you don't see the first time they grab the bodies to start eating, you feel Numa's gut.

@@mariaalejandrapiedra5765 absolutely. That scene made my stomach turn and made me thinking of what I would do in this situation. The scene was handed more sensitive than in Alive. Alive seems compared to Society of the Snow like Popcorn Cinema. The camera leading in LSDN was excellent.

Siii...esa esa escena..para mi fué de las más emotivas y tratadas con respeto de la peli ya estaban a salvo y sús amigos fallecidos y que gracias a ellos pudieron salvarse el grupo superviviente ya no eran sú alimento...y debian dar un respeto a sús restos....pues ya no eran carne si no sús compañeros fallecidos...y debian honrarles y darles sú lugar enterrando...sús restos con todo el respeto del mundo...una escena que denota de una gran humanidád del director Bayona...la peli si os fijais está llena de pequeños gestos y escenas de gran humanidád..Bayona es muy emotivo y detallista para contar historias..

J. A. Bayona tiene otras superproduciones que por lo que parece tú no sabes que son sus películas porque estoy segura de que alguna habrás visto como Lo imposible, El mundo Jurásico, y capítulos de series que ahora no recuerdo pero están en inglés. Te recomiendo una película de terror psicológico en español también de J. A. Bayona, se titula El Orfanato. En España se hace un cine de mucha calidad sin grandes presupuestos, y los directores de Hollywood dicen que ellos no podrían hacer esas maravillosas películas españolas con tan poco presupuesto. Así que tenemos muco más mérito que los directores de USA y hacemos más arte con menos presupuesto.

Such an incredible film! First heard about this story when I started getting into rugby years ago, but never watched Alive because of accuracy/respect complaints. This film never felt voyeuristic or exploitative; it was evident throughout that it was a tribute to both victims and survivors. Casting, makeup, storyboard, etc. were all amazing throughout. And yes, big-budget studios, I'd much rather read subtitles than force things into Americanisms.

i watched it with my parents so i was begging them to keep it in spanish and just read the subtitles because its the original languauge. also dubs usually sound pretty bad however this was SO good even in english!

En español te llega al corazón directamente, es un orgullo poder ver algo de tan alta calidad en nuestro idioma ...

Me he visto esta entrevista muchas veces y me vuelve a conmover, gracias por hacer historias cómo está, gran película en todos los sentidos, ojalá pueda llevarse todos los premios a la que esté nominada.

A mí me sorprendió la interpretación de Roberto y Nando, su liderazgo no hablado, su determinación de llegar a Chile a pesar de haber visto la cordillera cuando esperaban ver Chile, por sus miradas volví a ver la peli y en esa segunda vez Numa me hizo llorar y por él me estoy viendo documentales. Encantadora, debió pelear por mejor película (no sólo extranjera) y nominar a alguno de los actores (Enzo o Matías quizá) y mejor director y producción para J.

la pelicula está muy bien hecha y resuelta, pero no se puede comparar con lo real de lo que paso.... desde los olores, el frio tremebundo qe han pasado los sobrevivientes, los sentimientos de cada uno con las perdidas, no saber donde están en el universo, no tener comida caliente, ni ropa para el frio mortal de esas montañas que son peores de en donde se grabo ........

Que desafortunado el comentario final donde Barden reconoce a la producción de Argentina y España dejando de lado a Uruguay, me encanta que posterior a eso Enzo posiciona como Uruguay considera que esta historia les pertenece y es verdad, Uruguay es parte importante de esto, él es uruguayo y en un mejor escenario todos habrían sido uruguayos. No puedo evitar cuestionar el auge que a veces se da a España por esta película, entiendo que la producción y director español, sin embargo, en esa necesidad de reconocimiento de España a veces se pierde el reconocimiento que también amerita Uruguay, "la tragedia" o "milagro" la vivió uruguay, los sobrevivientes son uruguayos, y evidentemente hay muchísimo talento en Uruguay, lo vemos en Enzo y esta película. Simplemente la forma en la que se expresó al final fue equivocada.

Madre mía no sabes lo que dices. Esta película significa poner en el mapa a Uruguay. Incluido a los actores. Pero el libro sobre la tragedia se publicó en España y el director Bayona es un genio para contar este tipo de sucesos. Ya se hizo esta pelicula por parte de EEUU pero lo hace España con un casting completamente Uruguayo y tu solo tienes critica.

Y disculpa, pero a quien quiere poner en el “mapa” con esta película no es solo Uruguay… evidentemente también intenta hacerlo con España.

Entiendo tú comentario y a ti..si es verdád la historia les pasó a unos chicos Uruguayos..claro se nombra a España porque está dirigida i producida por un director español también trabaja gente Uruguaya como el director de la maravillosa fotografia que tiene toda la peli....también hay un equipo de peluqueria muy importante en Uruguay..que trabajan conjuntamente con la direción de peluqueria de España y la nominación para los Oscars..en esa categoria también será vuestra... Bayona comentó..que tuvo que extender el Casting en Argentina..para encontrar los actores idoneos para protagonizarla...quedate con que le quiso dar el papél protagonista y de narrador a un actor Uruguayo Enzo...que para mi hizo una interpretación espectacular solo con sú mirada y sú maravillosa voz...Orgullosa que un director de mi tierra España haya dado esta homenaje a esta vuestra historia Uruguaya..un saludo a todos nuestros hermanos de habla hispana..❤

Es un gran actor y creo que buena persona. Pero no deja de ser un progre bastante arrogante, en ocasiones. Un millonario que dice preocuparse por los necesitados, con 6 ceros o más, en el Banco. No siempre ni mucho menos. Uno no pasa por hipócrita las 24 horas. Son algunos momentos. Acá está MUY bien
