I use ply and mdf. Deck sections are plain pine.

la pintura que utilizan los coches es acrilica muy delgada su capay tambien utilizan poliuretano de tres componentes ,y antes que le hecharan el gelcoats.. la pintura esa de coche tu crees que aguante el calor del gelcoats? para q no salga dañado con arrugas el molde?? hay otros q le meten antes de pintura al molde macho de madera... un top cat.. q es mas resisitente. cual de los dos es mejor?..... saludos muy buen video me gusto con su musica cool.. jeje

Hi Mohamad, no the wooden pieces are the prototype that will produce the mold. We work one part at a time.

hi, it's ply wood and mdf. The use of it here is only for the prototype.

+Terry Holden Hi Terry, this is one way of building a new model prototype. The cost of materials this way remains low but the time spent to finish it is too much. The other and more up-to-date way is by cutting foam with a CNC milling machine directly from the 3d design. This way is still very expensive (700euro/m2) but it saves a lot of time. Thanks

You can use whatever wood can be bent without breaking. I used ply and MDF.

Quais o preço de ser projeto

Apparently there's some folks here that are thinking this is a do it yourself project. I do believe this is a boat factory and what was shown in this video is the making of both boat and boat mold to build the boat. I'm I correct or did I think wrong? If I'm right, what is nd of wood is used on the mold? Just regular cabinet grade plywood or is it a specific type for building molds? I'm not a build from scratch guy, I give new life to old boats, so I watch these type of to have a better idea of how the boats are put together. Thanks

Hi and thanks for your comment. You are right, this is a video that shows how the mold was made, and then the final product. Most of the times the wooden prototype is destroyed after the extraction of the mold, so there's no need to spend much on ply. Also ply does not curve that much, so i prefer MDF. Ply is used for the sections and keel. If you are to use wood on a boat then you have to use ply only.
