I made my very first zine (hopefully the first of many) and guys I can't begin to tell you how satisfying this whole process was!! I've always loved the hands-on, physical process of art, and making this zine was all about that. I mainly used two techniques: a xerox transfer to print photos and text into the zine and rub-on lettering to add more text. Both of these methods were new to me, and I had a great time learning how to do them.
Hope you guys enjoy learning along with me and watching the art process.

Lately I’ve been struggling a lot with anxiety and depression, I’ve been trying to sell and promote my Lino prints, writing and paintings but to no success. But art never fails to take my mind off of things. And I’m glad I watched your video, usually my adhd doesn’t let me sit and focus on a video but each clip has a super cool tool I’ve never seen that inspires me so much. Watching you press on those letters and seeing them form meaningful sentences really warmed my heart for some reason. This is a huge inspiration and I hope your art takes you many places.
I still think the memorialized series was such a genius idea. I love the idea of trying to portray memories, I love the texture of both the abstract paintings and the acetone transfer images… so brilliant!

Many thanks to you Emma!!😊
Such a wonderful technique (the xerox thing) - and keeps in line with a zine being a fragile and personal medium I think. Very inspiring, feel like trying it out right away!

You absolutely can!! It’s a pretty accessible art form :) a zine can LITERALLY be made out of one folder piece of paper! You should totally explore some more ways of making them on KZread :) lots of good stuff out there
Beautiful ! Thank you 🫶🏼

I have to try this technique. Does anyone knows, if nail polish remover with acetone will work, too? Edit: I tried it. It works wonderfully! So have fun while testing 😊
So, if I understand it, you went back to the original photo, enhanced it so when you did the transfer it would be clearer/more distict?

Correct!
What kind of papers use?

I used normal printing paper! Actually, I think these were maybe a bit thicker than typical printing paper. But pretty similar.
Have you decided how you want to archive the master copies of your zines?

Ι like the fina result....but the technique feels .... wasteful. You use printer ink to print them plus the paper you print them on only to ....throw them awa after in order to have a faded ,uneven and blurry copy of a picture you have already printed ....plus the chemicals
