Working on zines with my students. They love it. Grade 3 especially enjoyed responding to a book in this way.

you can make a zine about nothing! Draw it all at once in a couple hours! whatever comes out will be a story of its own!!

a) Name and Location - LA Zine Fest, Los Angeles, California, at Helms Bakery b) Event date - May 26, 2019 c) Registration date - January 2nd - January 16th d) Fees - $0 - 50 for half table (3ft) , $0 - 100 for full table (6ft). It's pay what you can this year! e) Notes - you'll need a link to your website/instagram that shows some of your zines + they also have you upload 10 images of your zines on the application page itself I just applied to LA Zine Fest earlier this week! thanks for the video, zines are relatively low stress as a concept but there's sooo many ways you can approach them that it becomes overwhelming for me! it's cool to see how brainstorming can help you combine ideas + make it a little less daunting :)

Ohhh! Thank you! Wow sign ups are so early over there! I'm really excited to see your zines for the show! I know what tou mean!! It's just really hard for me to decide what to work on at any given moment so this process is just a way for me to get going - if at least for this first project I tell myself I am going to start with a simple zine with pre-defined specs, I start to narrow my topic down... thanks again!!

Hi, just a quick question about machines , what model are you using do recomend a particular series over another, does the model matter?

I dont really have experience with other models since I am not a riso machine dealer. I think you can learn more on the riso website but they have different specs. It is like buying a car haha

Ok, But just to clarify though, I'm super overwhelmed by all the models and series numbers when I looked online. Can you recommend a particular model series to stick to? I looked at the official riso website a read a bunch of specs and all that but what I wanted to know was do all riso models use the master drum and soy ink process? Those are the models I'm hoping to find. Thank you again, really appreciate you creating these resources for learning about this process.🏆🙏🥇
