Wow! That’s the best microwave I’ve ever seen. Love when the transformer is copper not Al. There’s a way to pop those big transformers apart with a grinder and hammer in just a couple minutes if you have a vice.

Hi Ethan. Yes I have a vice and a big chisel. A few smacks and it breaks. Some are harder than others.

It must be an old microwave. The new models now use aluminum in their transformers which to me is a waste of time; therefore, I do not pick them up anymore but that microwave is definitely worth it. Be Well and God Bless!

Yes it came out of a house from the late 1980's. I agree with you too. The aluminum one's are not worth messing with. Take Care.

Sweet! There's probably close to $2 just in the copper from the 2 small motors. 2.5c for appliances is ridiculous. My yard has been at 3.5c for all ferrous metals, which is terrible considering the market is up and some yards across town are paying close to 12c/lb. Those microwaves are the ones that get installed above oven ranges and counters. On microwave transformers, there is a weld going down the side. Clamp it in a vise so the top is sticking out and and give it good smacks with a hammer. I hate getting copper dust everywhere lol
