I think it's important to pack fun foods when you travel. If you don't, everyone else's food looks good and you suddenly find yourself going out to eat. A+ effort. I hope your hotel manager isn't a subscriber🤣🤣🤣

When I was in college we used to pit slices 9f cheese between two pieces of bread, wrap it in wax paper and iron it to make grilled cheese sandwiches since we couldn't cook in our room. Good memories.

Bring parchment paper for the sandwiches you plan on using the iron on to prevent sticking to iron. Just a tip from experience.

If you cook with the iron, put parchment paper between the sandwich and the iron. Also, sundried tomatoes and artichoke hearts are a good combo for sandwiches.

So I was taught to wrap sandwiches differently. Not that it makes any difference of course, but thought I would share. Instead of straight squares, turn them to the side as diamonds. Set the sandwich closer to one corner, roll it and the paper together toward the opposite corner. Then fold the other corners under tucking them in themselves.

Try adding about 2t of sugar to your egg salad. It has been the way my family grew up eating it, and it's delicious! Just a little sugar, changes the whole flavor. I add sugar to my devilled eggs and egg and potato, potato salad, just add mayo (I use miracle whip..grew up that way), mustard and sugar, with a little salt n pepper. I use yellow potatoes with very thin skins, so I leave the skins on, and I cube the potato before boiling them. Saves so much time in cooking, and it's way easier to tell they're done.

Randomly your channel popped up as a suggestion a couple days ago... I've probably watched about half of your whole catalog already😂😂😂 I really appreciate the work you have put into these videos. I'm not a creative person at all with the only exception being that while I can't create a recipe I do enjoy taking a recipe and molding it into what I like. Anyways my point is your channel is great for this and you mention it often. I've already bought ingredients from different videos to make the next weeks worth of meals. Special shoutout I paid like $22 for all week based off what I already had and what i bought inspired by you. So many great ideas! And the 1st meal I made was that simple ham and cheese with soup. I live in Phoenix so I didn't do the soup but I added some BBQ to my ham/cheese mixture before putting it in the oven. And had some more bbq for dipping and damn was it good lol Thank you very much for the content, keep up the great work but on your own schedule don't feel the pressure to put out content. Great video! I travel a lot and always try to take some sort of premade food when traveling by car, train, or bus. On planes, I at least try to take well wrapped tuna pouches, seasonings in small zip bags, crackers, etc. The trick with the english muffin and sub sandwiches is to lightly toast the muffins and rolls. Then the microwave and iron tricks work perfectly.

Have you ever tried a chicken salad with the canned chicken? Like maybe a dressing or mayo, with a nut, craisins - something like that? I am watching this and eating the Cranberry Almond chicken from Aldi's. I only get it as an occasional treat because of the cost, but by watching you, I think it could be made for much less. It could be a great Dollar Tree recipe.

I love Starbucks as well but I have changed how often I go and what I order. This started shortly before covid as I used to complete their weekly and weekend promos and challenges but it just became too busy and too expensive to keep up with it. The stores closed for awhile or had limited hours during covid so it was nice that my stars were frozen as per their policy. I have noticed though over the last 6 months they have changed their hours again, so they close about 2 hours earlier on weekends and holidays. Their prices have for sure gone up and not by a lot, so between .40 to $1.00 over the last year but if you look at a receipt from before covid, it's about $2 more per item now. Their venti and trenta drinks were about $6-7 before and now are about $8-9 each unless you just get an iced tea. I usually only go a few times a month and I save my stars for the expensive stuff. I rarely purchase anything big there unless it's a really good offer and I get a lot of stars for it as most of the offers are like 70 stars if you go six days in a row or 20 stars for 3 separate orders on a weekend.

I will report back! That’ll be my dinner tomorrow. I have eaten one of the sandwiches today and can attest that it’s on point to Starbucks

I just recently found your videos and I LOVE LOVE LOVE these meals. You are such an amazing woman. Can I say this though? That tiny little white string keeps bugging me though lol. Like, in my mind, my hand is trying to sneak up over the countertop to pluck that thing off. Anyhow! Keep doing what you do cause I love it and you just got another subscriber. 🎉

Loved your food ideas. I wonder if a waffle iron would brown up a sandwich ?

I love the idea of making my own turkey pesto sandwiches. They're so expensive at Starbucks.

when I was in High school we could get a double decker PBnJ and thats still my preferred way to make them, I add a slice of american cheese most of the time as well... I LOVE egg salad but really dislike egg whites, for the longest time I mashed the boiled eggs to a deviled egg type consistency but then I found out you can microwave scrambled eggs, it didnt take long to find out you can add cheese or sausage or what ever and from there... adding mayo was a no brainer.. no boiling eggs, no peeling, just beat to death then nuke one minute per egg, stirring every minute... more than 6 eggs you can reduce the time.. Ive cooked with an iron numerous times but nothing as big as those sandwiches, things like grilled cheese or left over pizza, reheating McD's cheeseboogers etc, it will be interesting to know if it works... maybe a short or 3....

You add a slice of American to the PB&J? What does that taste like?

@@kitkat2263 how do you describe a taste.. I know it sounds odd but I think its tasty. The sandwich has all the primary food groups, nuts/grains, fruit/veg and dairy

It's actually quite popular in polish communities. Also to dip grilled cheese in Grape jelly. It gives you that whole sweet and salty combo.

As long as you use either foil or parchment paper with the iron you should be fine. I do not speak from experience, but I've heard that you should do it that way.

The iron will work. I had a friend that worked in a womens prison for non violent offenders that are close to their release date. I think she said they have like 3 or less years here in the state if Georgia. She said that they are allowed some electronics like radios with headphones. These communicators they can contact pre-approved family & friends that have no criminal record with. They are considered good influences, and its supposed to help them start adjusting to life out of prison. Anyway they are also allowed to buy straightening irons. All of this the family has to.send m oney to pay for. Anyway, she said they buy food from the commesary (that is shelf stable), and then take a staightening iron to heat it up. They buy tortillas, cheese puffs, ramen noodles, canned meat (vienna sausage, span, tuna, or chicken). Then they crush the cheese puffs & mix it in with the ramen noodles while it sits to make cheese sauce. Then layers it in the tortillas and make burritos. Then use the straightening iron to toast the osides of the tortillas. So yourviron will work but you might consider buying a cheap straightening iron to use only for cookjng. That way it wont have hair product on it. Just a thought.😊
