Day 1 Meals:
Breakfast: Biscuits & Gravy
Mix biscuit mix with 1/2 cup of water and make 6 large biscuits. Bake at 400 degrees until brown (10 to 12 minutes). Brown sausage in skillet over medium high heat and mix gravy packet with 2 cups of cold water. Pour gravy mixture over sausage and continue to cook stirring constantly until thickened.
Serve gravy over biscuits (2 biscuits per day)
Lunch: Garlic Bread Pizza with Green Beans
Bake 1/2 of garlic bread loaf at 400 degrees for 6 to 8 minutes until brown. Top with pasta sauce and shredded mozzarella cheese. Continue to bake until cheese is melted, if desired you can broil for a couple of minutes to brown cheese on top.
Boil 1 cup of green beans in water and 1 teaspoon of vegetable bouillon until they are as soft as you'd like them to be. Drain and season with salt and pepper to taste.
Dinner: One Pot Smoked Sausage Alfredo Pasta
Dice 1 of your sausage links, in skillet over medium high heat with a drizzle of oil, brown sausage. Add 1 cup of frozen seasoning blend, 1/4 cup of rotel, 1 cup of penne pasta, 2 cups of water, and 1&1/2 teaspoons of vegetable bouillon. Bring to a boil, then cover and simmer for 12 minutes stopping to stir twice and immediately recover so pasta doesn't dry out. By the end of cooking most of the liquid should be absorbed and then you can stir in half your can of alredo sauce and heat through. Season with salt and pepper if desired.
Snacks for the day: 1 pack of buddy bars, and some spicy nacho Fieras

I don’t know who might not know this, The dollar tree marks down the meat in the refrigerator fairly often. Last week when I went they had 24 packages of turkey hotdogs marked a quarter each, they had some of the smoked sausage as well. I know hotdogs are not the ideal meat, but they fill hungry bellies. Just make sure you freeze them when you get them home so they don’t go bad. This is a really good video!

That's great! I didn't know that. I always check DT clearance bins when I find them. One time I scored a big stash of two different kinds of delicious granola marked down to 25 cents for each package. They were displayed in a shopping cart right inside the front entrance with a big clearance sign. I bought just a few at first, because I didn't want to be greedy, but when I went back a few days later almost none of them had sold, so I took that as an okay to buy all the others. The clerk said they were relieved because they were pretty close to being thrown out if they didn't sell.

For anyone who might not know this. Gravy is just flour and milk. I prefer to brown my flower just a bit for a browner gravy but just add milk to flour on the stove and you'll get the same gravy you made here. Add salt and pepper and sausage. But you can buy a whole bag of flour and container of milk and make weeks worth of gravy for like 3 dollars vs buying on packet for a 1.25. if your on a budget budget I thought this would help.

A little trick on the french bread pizza. Slice a small amount off the bottom so that it can sit flat - save those pieces, dry them out and make bread crumbs in a food processor or a baggie with a rolling pin or heavy skillet - those can stay frozen for many months and then you have fresh bread crumbs for a future recipe :)

Also if you add a little baking soda to your tea while it’s brewing it takes any bitterness out and keeps your tea clear. I add a 1/4 tsp for 8-10 cups of water.

I also take my tea bags after they have boiled, and fill up the pot with water again. Then, I use a spoon to kind of mash the tea bags while pouring into the gallon jug (just to get that extra tea into the jug). I do this twice. Then, I just finish filling the gallon jug with water. Something else I do is to put a small amount of hot water in the bottom of my jug and then add the sugar and stir. Then, I pout the tea into that sugar/water mixture. :)

You just brown a couple of tablespoons of fat with flour in a pan and add milk or milk and water and stir until thickened.. Add in a half of cup of carmelized onion. Add salt, pepper and sage. It's really good and if you don't have sausage or want a vegetarian version, this is it.

Ya I find making gravy from scratch really easy, just a 1:1 ratio fat to flour, brown for flavor, add milk until you get consistency you like, whisk until smooth.... Im not judging anyone for using the gravy packets (I still sometimes do as flavoring agents for other dishes) but ive moved on from them as bases for gravy. But I appreciate and understand everyone is at different places and comfort levels on their cooking journey. Just want to emphasize making gravy from scratch is super easy and maybe you can shift the money for all those packets elsewhere in your budget.

@@YeshuaKingMessiah Well, yes, good point. I'm a toss in the pan kind of cook. I would say then....carmelize onions by slowly cooking a thinly sliced, onion in butter or fat.Take your time, do it slow. Add a shake of salt, a pinch of sugar. When the onions are cooked down and lightly browned, they are done. Now, take three tablespoons of fat, melt in a pan on a medium heat and add three tablespoons of flour. Stir for at least two minutes to cook off the raw flour taste. Add milk, any kind, or water and WHISK, with a whisk preferably, it really gets the lumps out. As you whisk in the milk slowly, it will start to thicken. I would think two cups, of milk, but add it slowly till it's the consistency you desire, and don't add it all if it gets too thin. Add salt, pepper, sage, or poultry season to taste. Stir in the onions. Voila!! It literally takes more time to type this out than to do it. It's easy and fast. Other than the carmelizing the onion part. But that's a delicious addition. You can do the entire thing with zero onion, but you're missing a treat if you leave it out.

When making tea, just bring about 4 cups of water to a rolling boil in a large saucepan, take it off the heat and drop about 4 of those small bags or 1 large family size bags in. cover the pot with the lid or a saucer and let it steep for about 5 minutes or longer if you want the tea stronger. Remove the tea bags and pour the tea into a picture. Add water (or not) to taste. I wouldn't put tea through the coffeemaker as it will make it super bitter. Hope that helps! Great video!

I think this is an amazing channel that we all need unless ur in great financial shape. Or maybe we would be if we planned our meals better. Just so people know.. I’m 68 years old living on very little with high debts . Mosltly car costs, medical test copays and credit card for necessities. With Covid, I was able to get foodstamps help for a year or so. Suddenly, the Covid help ended and I now live in less than 25 $ a month. It’s so difficult. I have to have bottled water because I have blood cancer and don’t trust the tap water. My bills without rent are over $1000 a month. I’m so glad to have ur help. I’m alone and it’s so hard. Ty ty !

Being disabled, I manage about $20 a week for groceries. I don't buy meat. Or fresh veggies. No sweets. I do buy potatoes because there are 100,000,001 ways to make them. I don't use butter or oil. My daughter makes preserves and gives me some. I have to plan carefully if I'm going to be able to get enough. But I enjoy doing it. It's a challenge. Lol

I like to add some dehydrated onion to my green beans. So good. Those are single serve tea bags. Equal to maybe 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoons of loose tea. So you will need to double them or say 6-7 per gallon of tea. Let steep a long time. I personally like sugar so I add that to the still slightly warm tea before adding ice or usually cold water to make a gallon.

  • @auntshel

I agree it needs to steep. I bring 10 tea bags in about 4 cups water to just below a boil then turn off and let set for 1 hour. Then pour over 2 cups sugar in a gallon pitcher fill up with cold water and ice.

Hey there, just discovered you. A couple of things - One - Holy smokes, you're realistic! You don't make tiny portion sizes, EVERYTHING a casserole/soup - plus you actually buy snacks and drinks. It's almost like you're a real person! I love soup and casserole, but not for like.. every. Single. Meal. lol Two - I enjoy your voice and your audio quality/editing. There's this one dollar tree craft lady, whom I enjoy the ideas, but I find it absolutely impossible to listen to because she just does not edit her voice together very well and constantly runs over herself during transitions. It's daunting. You also don't sound like you're in a can or your voice is clipping the microphone every ten seconds. I really, *really* appreciate that, because for me, it's how I'm able to pay attention to you. I will definitely be coming back. Three - Nice ideas. They're simple, easy and you do make meals that seem filling and last you to the next stage of the day.

I make a whole pitcher of sunshine tea with only 3 regular tea bags. I just pop the tea bags in water and cover the pitcher so insects and curious pet noses don't go inside while the tea "brews" in the sun. It turns out the perfect strength because the tea bags sit in there a long time. You can brew your tea longer with fewer teabags with your method to get stronger tea too.

This plan is way more realistic for sure! I did hear you say you were southern…how’d you get all grown and not know how to make tea?? Lol! Just throw three tea bags in a small sauce pan and fill it with water. Let it boil and put it in a pitcher then add water to your pitcher to make it your desired strength. If you are wanting to use your coffee pot, just put the tea bags where you’d normally put coffee…got your concentrate without a pan!
