I love it! If I make one, I'd add a stainless wire to the brim to help hold the hats shape at the edge of the brim.

Thanks. You can add but not very thick wire because strap around the bream is norrow and designed for bream without the wire. I used dry vegetable leather and my hats don't need wire.

I have seen someone add a strip of veg tan leather for the inside of brim for your forehead.

To make a brim in the bigest size of hat, you need piece of leather approx. 13" x 17" (inch) so for sure 2 x 2 foot will be enough.

How do I reshape a wonderful hat like this one?

To reshape a leather crown it has to be wet and then formed on a block.

Why didn’t you put wire in brim? It would facilitate shaping!

This project no need wire. The brim is very narrow in the middle of hat and shaping is very easy without wire.

This is pretty sick. But how could I finish this so that sweat and the elements would not ruin it?

Resolene is what i use for finishing leather goods that need more protection.
