Making Homemade Spring Roll WRAPPERS
Spring Roll Wrappers Recipe:
1. Mix all the ingredients together until you have a batter.
2. Slap the batter for 10 minutes until it's smooth & thick.
3. Let it rest for 30 minutes then cook the wrappers.

So surprised you only cook them on one side and stack them, but they don't get stuck together?! But I love the rolls and may try your method. Very creative! Thank you.

this is especially very interesting because we don't have any wrappers this thin in any stores around here (n. texas). never will you find these thin one locally i don't think. this is very interesting - thank you! up thumbed it!

+cctn2012 Yes, it has to be thin. The very first time I tried it with another recipe and it came out thick that when I deep fried the wrap was so overwhelming :( It was like a thin stuffed pancake. This recipe I really had success & I am so happy about it just thinking that I can eat rolls anytime I want. Thank you for watching.

For the mixing could you use a kitchenmaid mixer for this step? Just enough to get it mixed then continue to the consistency that is needed? Hey on a lighter note I noticed your new tupperware shelf.... lol....looks great :)

The mixture gets very thick and heavy. It might ruin your machine.

Very late, but if you're still looking for an appliance to help work dough a stand mixer is what you're looking for.

I like that..Make the wrappers and play in the batter, now that looked like fun. Can you kindly share the recipe list and amounts for us to make??? In the many KZread video recipes I tried I could not achieve the sticky consistency of your batter!!! Please share!!!
I'm getting so brave, so I'm going to try to make this just for the fact it will be fun to play with that sticky dough? using cast iron as always, so the oil will be within reach. I seem to remember seeing this on a vid about Thailand street food. love to both, Chef Chris.

so, I tried this last night with just the intention of practicing and making some for the freezer. the recipe was so easy, but JOSIE!!! you didn't tell me how messy it would be!? I had this EVERYWHERE! even in my hair! it was a trip, but fun. I ended up with only 6 good ones, but the next time I hope it will be better? (can't make this if you get an itchy nose!!!) you need to add a "messy scale", from one to five. (this one is a six) chef?chris

Yes you may put it in the fridge but cover it a with humid cloth so it doesn't dry up.

Hope you didn't grease the pan because it will not stick. Take your time to roll the batter into the pan, not too quick.
wwaaaaaaaaaaaooh it bring me memories. I use to work with family from Hong Kong and that was the way of doing it

Cynthia, I think I remember that when I did my last batch it came out dry too and breaking. I will have to try adding some binding ingredient... not sure yet what but If you think of something let me know and I will try it with my next batch.

Yup really have to practice because the dough needs to stick a bit when you roll it to the pan.

Add a little oil in the ingredients and you must let the dough set for at least 4 hours.

Is making your own Spring Rolls Wrappers really worth the trouble and expense? Buying them directly from any Asian shop is perhaps cheaper and you save yourself from all the troubles.
