Making Greeting Cards With Your Art Photos
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
In this video I share how I use photos of my art work to create beautiful greeting cards. This is an affordable, inexpensive and easy way for artists to create greeting cards for their patrons and friends. It is a wonderful way to share your art work with others. They can be used to promote your art business online, in a store or at an art show. They make wonderful gifts and can be used for a variety of occasions, weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, memorials and graduation. They are perfect to express your care and concern for others.
The process of putting the cards together is easy and affordable. I purchase the photos online at Clark Color and the embossed cards at DickBlick Art. Mounting the photos to the cards are quick when you use a spray fixative such as 3M spray adhesive. Greeting cards are a must for anyone who runs a business because they allow you to let your patrons know you care and appreciate their patronage and support.

Great tip on the Strathmore photo mount cards. Thank you!
Thank you for this video!
Thanks Maureen! This was a great tutorial - I'd never have thought of spray adhesive and would have made a mess with some other glue type!
Thank you! I’ve been thinking about turning my artwork into cards and selling online. You’ve given me the inspiration to do that. Your artwork is beautiful! Thanks for sharing. ❤

Thanks Glen they are so inexpensive and sure beat store cards not to mention they can show off your art work. Let me know if you try making a few.
Thank you so much for this information. My son took some lovely photos of wildlife recently and would like to give them as cards to relatives for Christmas. There are so many different ways to 'print cards' but your way will be perfect for him.

Glad it was helpful!
This is a perfect solution to my problem. I’ve had so many issues with printers not working but just making prints of my art and using adhesive gets rid of that completely. Thank you ma’am 🎉

Thank you for the information.
Thank you! This is just what I was looking for! Going to an online store to get quality cards made is too pricey. Your choice of card stock and your art are beautiful !

Thank you for your encouraging reply.
That does look easy, but it's not as easy as ordering cards directly from you! And I'm really sure your finished product is better than mine would be.

I get matt photos of my work from snapfish. They are priced low and they are beautiful.
I ordered 100 count of the cards/envelopes that you use. I’m not sure how old the video is. You had stated in a comment 100 cards would be around $33 and I was charged 67.00 5:36
Thanks these look great. Wondering what kind of finish you use on Your photos

I always order a matt finish when I order my photos. Hope this helps.
Thank you for this informative video. I have a question about the photograph. Do you have them professionally taken? If not, what is your method/specifics of the photography? Do you print them in glossy or matte? Thanks!

I print them in matt. I photograph them with my iphone.
Hi Maureen. Clark Color is no longer in business and has been bought by Snapfish. You do you use to print your photos now and what paper do you chose? Thanks!

HI S Art...Clark Photo transferred all their products and everyones history over to snapfish. I'm just using snapfish now their quality is good and the have very good specials like clark color. I still use the embossed Strathmore cards from Dick Blick. Thanks for your question. Let me know if this helps.

Do you write your information on the back of your card? If so, how?

Hello, I'm a card maker/artist and have sold cards on small scale (hand signing with email), but want to sell more. I've seen card makers who purchase customized stamps with logo/artist info or signature with email etc. Just search custom rubber stamps. The cost in the long run is probably the best option unless having them professionally printed, plus can be used on other items sold or for business tags or bags. The other option I've seen are printed stickers either professionally printed or homemade on shipping/address labels you print yourself at home. There are pros and cons to both so I think it just depends on your needs. Hope this helps :)

Yes I use address labels on the back with my name and website. They are easy to generate with Avery template and are easy to apply. 😊
