It's not everyday that you'll see someone with a personal metal lathe in their home in Vietnam. Imagine what he can build if he has access to higher end tools! I love the choice of water cooled electric motor with planetary gearing, custom lathe work and practicality of the bike frame/seat. The rider balance is perfect as well. Incredibly good work on the foam, fiberglassing and wing additions. This is a phenomenal diy and something to be proud of. I personally hope you progress this idea into something more and even a business. Keep up the great work!

This is a wholesome comment but I'm not sure how you know the lathe was in their home. People like this will go to their friends or industrial shops to use the high end tools that they don't have.... well that's what I do anyways.

Exactly, I'm in Croatia and I'm looking for a good lathe to buy. You need space and first of all electricity. This smells not total amateur but the glass fiber job was horrible, and you dont weld like that. Also need a table because of future health problems, knees, back everything. Also this is quite dangerous floater, a wave and your "boat" cracks and the cracks cut your lims. Really? Safety? Not? Lol.

There weren't D cell batteries. Perhaps you missed the part around 11:18 where he slides that large silver box with the two terminals. Clearly that is the main battery for this unit. I wish the specs for things were included. There were several points about this that I would be concerned with. First, I believe that silver compartment holding the battery/batteries could easily overheat - there was no cooling for that and if the batteries are inside a metal structure I can see them getting extremely hot. I wonder what the run time of this unit is - of course it's limited by how much throttle is being applied. I have ridden jet skis many years and another issue is that he has an exposed propeller. That is, of course, a danger to anyone in the water, but it can also be an issue for near shore operation. The difference between this and the jet skis is that jet skis have enclosed propellers. As part of that some of the rotational energy is turned back into propulsive force by removing the twist of the water after the propeller. Too bad full specs and a parts and tool list aren't given.

All electric makes it clean quiet and no smell. Reusing the bike frame is cheap fast and reliable. Keeping it Vietnamese as hell with the diagonal propeller shaft. I love many things about this project. Add solar panels on the deck or as a shade hood and its perfect.

I'm very impressed by the way you built this one of a kind boat using basic tools. I especially like the way you used your welder as a way to carve the foam. Very smart guy. The bike frame was perfect for the build.🤙🤙. The performance was was awesome. Have you ever thought of using hydrofoil technology on one of your boats? That would be awesome to see you build. You are very smart and dedicated to your craftsmanship. Keep up the great work that you are doing. Love watching your videos 🤙🤙

Beautifully done. I've owned a boat for fifty of my 78 years. I once owned a Styrofoam sail boat. It was just a "play thing" for use on the nearby lake - fun. Worked well and I often thought about putting fiberglass on it but never got to it. In this case I would shield the pipe, prop and rudder and protect any point where water could get into the electronics. Small gets bigger so I would figure out how to make the wings removable and add more depth. I don't think that would be difficult to do. Not sure how long it runs but the longer the better. I could see these being used competitively on the lake by people everywhere. One becomes many and it doesn't take long for the enhancements to come. Next question, how can I use it to fish out of and troll with? I would have to be able to change the gear ratio of the prop as needed.... Thanks. Nice job!!!!!

I would like to see how you get on & off of the craft & how it handles in choppy waves. Have you tested it's strength's when facing a wave from other boats passing, etc...? Have you taken your dog along for a ride, making sure of his safety, of course? Does this craft size require a boat operator's license in the inner coastlines of the U.S., for example? REALLY MAKES ME WANT TO BUILD 1 NEXT SPRING !!!
