I am 73 years and you reminded me of these snow balls in easy way we never had self raising flour so we used baking powder and measured with spoons, and dipped them with plum jam and desiccated coconut l will surely try them and see do they taste the same cause l still have the written recipe which was passed to me by my late mother thanks for sharing

Thanks so much for the comment. Yes baking powder and flour is the substitute for self raising flour

After watching the reviews I went back to the snow ball recipe, I'm going to try this, for Easter, your daughter is very graceful, Mrs Devi lovely she's learning, and about hazel.... Thanks so much Nirosh. Yes the children grew up eating snowballs from wareings which were probably the best in Durban! Pranesh still loves a good snowball and milk!

I also use same method add 2 TBSP KLIM milk powder for a soft inside texture. I use icing sugar and milk to make glace icing will try your condensed milk next time. Your snowballs look awesome and amazing ❤️💕❤️

Hi Rajan. The sour milk (1 cup) substitutes for 2 eggs actually. I am not sure what the exact vegan substitute would be but I've heard of people using vinegar or bananas.

A quick google search also suggests the use of apple sauce.

Sour milk or Maas is a fermented milk we get here in South Africa. On its own it tastes similar to yoghurt but has a more curdled texture
