If you count sewing and knitting projects that don't work out to the point that they'll never be finished, then a resounding "yes". At least the knitting projects can be ripped and the yarn re-used.

My middle daughter had me buy a doll blank which she lost interest in before it showed up. I finally put eyes in her, and bought her a beautiful red wig. She is CREEPY AF!!! I am as kind to her as I can be. I think she might be less creepy if she had her makeup done. . . I don't know how to do that. So, here we are.
Just watched Morgan Donner ask Nicole Rudolph for help with her jacket, I've seen Rachel Maksy get tutoring from Abby for her sewing, and now Abby is channeling Rachel for some fun craft time. Full circle yet?

@Odontecete - I went through the same paralyzing thing. I called myself a "failed perfectionist". It was horrible. A wonderful therapist and the appropriate prescription medication helped me get out of that pit. It took a while, though.

Rachel routinely makes cursed stuff! That’s the joys of crafting. You never know what is going to possess your creations.
I thought they came out cute! Hope that helped you get calmer to complete the sewing you need to do for the trip! Hang in there!
This was too much fun! At first we were giggling at the idea of making cursed objects with Mod Podge and acrylic paint, but it's October, so maybe we shouldn't be laughing! We think you got great results with these easily obtained, affordable supplies. For a more durable upgrade, we think Utrecht Acrylic Modeling Paste would better ensure a lasting project, and these cursed Jack O' Lanterns could be on their way to a shelf in Vendredi's Antiques!
I originally thought this was a Rachel Maksy video but then I saw Abby in the thumbnail and was confused haha BUT! I would love to see more craft videos from Abby because it was fun and a nice change for both her and us viewers :)
I hope that crafty time accomplished its purpose of a needed break. I plan on copying the idea when I need to take a break. I love the pumpkins.
Let's all support Abby as she de-cheugs this lovely house! I think they came out great!!
I feel your vibes Abby. This has the same manic energy I had last week when I announced on Wednesday that I was making a skirt to wear to a football game Saturday…and we were leaving the house first thing on Friday. The hem was chaos-sewn in the car on the way to the game. For the record, I am a quilter, and just starting to make clothes. The inside was a hot mess, but I kept thinking about all your preserved clothing and the messy insides and kept sewing. 😂
All of my costubers are bugging about this cruise! I'm excited to see y'all when you actually get there and can relax and enjoy all of the amazing things you have created!

Abby you talking about your move to be closer to family is so similar to what I've been going through! I moved from CO to MO and the politics are starkly different 👀... I also really miss my CO friends, but I'm so much happier mental health wise with a better support system in place. Just saying that what you're feeling is super valid and you're not alone! May we both have continued happiness in our new locations 🥰🥰🥰
This is literally how all of my stuff turns out. I follow 98% of the tutorial with just a few customisation, and then I’m like…I don’t know if I like this or not.
I’M SO GLAD you’re in therapy!!! Meds are shameless/neutral but can be REALLY helpful! I’m glad you’re doing self care! 🥰🤟❤️
They’re cute! You can always put them on the porch if you don’t like them in the house. Also, for the eggs, you can use real egg shells by piercing the shells with a needle and blowing out the contents (then make some omelets). I only ever had one set of Easter eggs as a kid, we did this once, decorated the eggs, and they lasted for years. Also, it says a lot about regional differences that the wildest part of this video for me was all of the plastic bags! I haven’t seen a plastic bag outside of food delivery in years, they aren’t legal where I live.

I think something that often goes unaddressed in the whole "content creator burnout" conversation is the lack of colleagues. My hubby started his own business a couple of years ago and he really struggles with working alone.
🎶All the floors are beige, and the walls are gray🎶But seriously, it's great that you're getting your house the way you want it. Gray is sometimes a good base coat for your favorite color.
I don't have words for how much I love these cursed little friends
i love the cursed pumpkins! this was a really fun video, don't hesitate to do more chaotic crafts when you need a need a break from sewing!
Love this segment of Cursed Crafts! I’d watch more of this for sure 😊
I love the spooky cursed pumpkins. They look really beautiful when lit.
Congratulations you have made something that will haunt my nightmares. Very over the garden wall vibes. You have successed!
Well this hit the nail on the head for migraine friendly cursed content thank you lovely Abby sorry you’re feeling so burnout you’re wonderful.
I'm glad the algorithm has finally figured out that I like my crafts to be exactly 50% cursed and 50% blessed.
Stopping at 9:19 to suggest renting all the holiday stuff. A wedding/party rental place will have everything - furniture, table linens, dishes, serving stuff. Might be pricey for one day but handier than rushing your actual furniture shopping. Good luck. Can't wait to see the finished pumpkins!
Rachel Maksy will agree that some of her stuff is *cursed* too, but its part of the charm, part of the vibe, part of that good good spooky life
I enjoyed watching how they came out! Cursed objects are always more interesting 😉 I'm always down to watch more of your craft/non-sewing videos if you need more self-care days 💛💕

Imperfect crafting is the only crafting I can do, and I'm all about Fall and struggling this year. I suspect many of us can relate to this video much more than the upcoming cruise videos (although I will absolutely be there for every one of those as well!)
I find it incredibly refreshing to see someone doing something they aren't amazing at. It's really nice to be reminded that you can't expect yourself to be perfect at everything
totally hear you on the happy house vibes. our folk Victorian was used as a personal care home for 10 years before we bought it, and was really run down by then. The first party we had here I totally said the house sings when we have guests over and the house is all clean and bright and all... Only to have one of my guests confirm that the spirit of the daughter of the original builder was there and very happy about what we'd done with the house so far. So, yes, house's totally have thoughts and feelings :)
I think Abby got the right balance of quirky and slightly disturbing. Great job! I’m all for the productive procrastination detour when you need one.
Love Procraftination.
They are cute, not cursed. I hope they make a return appearance next October.
Oh these turned out really good! You're too hard on yourself! And they def give off the Over The Garden Wall vibe! Might have to do some procraftination myself.
I totally get procrftination. I’m glad your house feels happier with color. I think mine does too. I like the cursed things. They’re creepy cute.
I love it! They look like a creepy pumpkins from old victorian Halloween cards!
Definitely got the Rachael makes crossover vibes. The farmers hat came out excellently. The nest hat fails my vibe test but we work with what we have and say good enough or nothing ever gets completed. I like them. All the plastic bags hurt my little environmental heart.
It's fun to see that even an accomplished crafter can have things not turn out how they were envisioned. More power to you, Abby! I'm glad the house is feeling happier too.
Am I weird for loving them? I think they are perfect creepy halloween. :P
I'm the same way when I craft. "This is hot garbage, but I had fun" is my mantra the whole time! Love your videos!!
👍👍I'm glad your house is feeling happier, it's good to know you're doing ok 👍 The pumpkins came out adorable 😁!
I feel like all the videos this year are a strange KZread mirror of my experience with depression and I both feel terrible for Abby and so seen/valid at the same time. 💛 It's very weird but I'm glad it's here too? This went a strange direction, but I'm just happy this whole channel exists.
To be fair pumpkins are very hard to make non creepy! I think they turned out cute! Loved the creative chaos in this video, definitely more please!
I love mental health crafting and I am all about procraftinating. Good for you taking care of your health and not shaming yourself for stepping away from something.
I'm so glad you took this moment. The difference is most evident between stressed crafty Abby and Adorable Hobbit Abby. I love them both equally!
I'm here for the cursed mid west vibes! I'm originally from MO and I love cabbage lol and I've lived around the world at this point and people think we're strange. 😅
Omg Procraftsination is SUCH A PERFECT TERM THANK YOU
Had to steal that definition and share it with my friends on FB. Thank you.
Love this! So good to see you taking the time to refresh and recharge! Thank you for sharing and the pumpkins are adorable!
You did a great job. Remember that most people who try this will not be able to make it look half as good as you can! I know because I've tried stuff and it never comes out as good, but I still love watching and learning, keep it up, you make us all smile, which is really the most important part of it, isn't it??
I seem to remember Rachel calling her first iteration of the paper mache pumpkin head lady cursed. I find yours eerily charming, Abby. I actually find assurance & enlivenment seeing you work your way through an artform you are less familiar with. And, I do enjoy watching people craft Despite you feeling very upset with how your sewing is going, you managed to take a little "rest", and make a charming video.
no no no you absolutely nailed it, these are 100% what wirt and greg saw in pottsfield

You did a great job and I'm even happier to know that it served as self care and a getaway from your work stress. I am definitely here for whatever crafting goodies or anything else that you enjoy and would want to post about.
First off, thank you for being vulnerable with us. You are AWESOME and need self-care/me-time. Nice shout-out to Rachael. Honestly, they look super cute and very 19-teens. I hope you have enough done to be able to relax on Mr. Wellington's cruse.

The return of the Oversized Animal Print Glasses. It’s iconic.
They're amazing! Love the different video and fun crafting times!
Those are creepy cute! Vintage Halloween is my jam, so naturally I'm in love! Modern Farmhouse decor is the scourge of real estate Country wide! Finding home decor that's not grey or white is practically impossible. I went with dark emerald green walls to make the natural woodwork in my home pop. White washed it out. Decorating a new space is so enjoyable. Have a great time with your new home. Thanks for the great video!
Somewhere in Massachusetts, Rachel Maksy just sat bolt upright, sniffed the air, and whispered "Someone, somewhere, is WEATHERING"
Actually this was a really great vid. Loved the kind of slow crafting, chatting away vibe as if you are just hanging out with friends. As opposed to an overly edited look as if you magically did it all in one go with no messy bits. ❤️
I love them! I think that’s exactly how they should look! It’s art it is it’s own creation. Everyone ‘s version will be slightly different. I think because it’s unsettling to look at is the point…so mission accomplished!! ❤🎃
They turned out so cute! Very creepy/cute vintage feel!
Just watched the whole OtGW series again! It is so creepy, and you captured the vibe. You did a wonderful job on them. Keep on taking care of yourself. Happy Halloween!
These little pumpkin-people heads are equal parts terrifying and adorable and I absolutely love them.
I loved this! I enjoyed the chatting a lot, and would happily watch more craft videos. I've always enjoyed the hair care ones too!
I like creating Halloween artifacts with deviations such as skipping a step that says: "smooth down surface" or "wait 20 minutes before applying the next layer". The surprise (as when I reread/view the instructions) can result in a quite scary, unique piece of Halloween decor. My advice, follow your own muse as long as you wear protective eyewear, gloves and do the work in well-ventilated area. Also I find my animal roomies do not try "to assist" with my work, if I resemble Dr. Frankenstein and smell like adhesive.
I'm just really happy to see you take a little break ❤️ I hope things get easier for you soon.
This video was deliciously fun. As much as I enjoy the sewing videos, it's always fun to see happy experiment with other things.
Creepy and cute! Btw, if anyone is interested in how to craft some eggs: just use real eggs, poke a small hole in the top and bottom with a needle and blow the insides out! Sounds a bit weird, but it works pretty good and results in scrambled eggs and empty eggshells.
So I was just browsing Joanns patterns for a Halloween costume and found the 18th century stays and dress you posed for, recognized you immediately! Made my day almost as much as the discount I got on my pattern lol
Abyy, thank you so much for showing us the process of making these. They're terrifying and I love it
hope for 2023 y'all take care of yourselves even if you only do a lil something. you did something.
Enjoyed this Halloween themed video and seeing your home take on more of your personal style. Lookin’ good 🎃
This came up on my recommended and I’m so glad I found you. You seem exactly like the type of channel I love. The pumpkins came out adorable and spoopy. 🎃🎃
Something my counselor pointed out to me: procrastinating with fun activities isn't really self care because it just means I'm pushing the thing I need to be doing further down the road, where I'll have less time to accomplish it, which will just increase the stress and anxiety in the end. When I catch myself procraftinating now, I pull up the project I need to finish and write down the next steps, and make a plan for how I'm going to accomplish the very next one. I've had a lot less anxiety in my life lately!

I think sometimes you need to take a break though! Sometimes the best thing you can do for yourself and your serious project is STOP and come back later. I'd imagine what you do in the meantime and for how long depends on how freaked out you were and what the project was. Self-care is tricky! Sometimes what you want and what you need are different, and sometimes what you need is to just do what you want for a while. Plus, anxiety and depression frequently do not agree on what good self-care looks like 🙃
They are very vintage Halloween aka terrifying. I love them! You need to do more craft time with Abby.
Loved this! It was so fun and chill 🧡
The silly little edits through out this video, like the raining down of regrets, are just perfection!!
Yeeeeees!!! I’m down for good ol’ arts and crafts girl! I love your pumpkins and don’t worry! That’s how we learn.🎃
I’m so glad I’m not the only one who just…is not great at crafting, even tho the process is fun. The pumpas are legit creepy, but they would be AWESOME outdoor lanterns for Hallowe’en night. I also recently moved back to the Midwest (west MI) from far away (Nova Scotia). It’s good to be nearer to loved ones again. Very good for my mental health… as is my recent foray into crafty-ness (my therapist advised me to start a bullet journal). Keep taking care of yourself, and bringing joy into your new house! ❤
