Makes me think this is what Belle's dress from beauty and the beast should have looked like.

Thank you so much, that’s so kind!
Lovely! Very well constructed. Your work is proof that it’s not necessary to make it all by hand and still be close to being historically correct. The end result is so beautiful.

Exquisite!! I live in Florida (US) and the weather is very humid and hot. I'd swoon if I had to wear so many garments at once.

Thank you! Yes totally, it’s not ideal lol that’s why they have the chemise so it can protect the outer garments from perspiration and a fan! 😂
Wow! This is beautiful! You are so talented! More please! Sending best wishes from Down Under. New sub here. 🥰💐🇦🇺

Hiya! 🙋🏼♀️ thanks so much, I’m glad you enjoyed it! 😄
It turned out lovely! I am going to show this to my daughter because she wants to make a yellow robe a la francaise...and not a lot of costumers make yellow gowns!

Thoroughly enjoyed your video. Just the right mix of information and detail. It was fascinating to see how the entire outfit was constructed. A stunning dress and what luscious silk! You look beautiful in it and your dressed hair so pretty, too. Well done 👏

Lovely video and your gown is so lovely! I loved how you referenced the books that aided you in the journey of making the gown. I’m always looking for recommendations for costuming technique books that have detailed pictures. I’d love to see a video of your “library”.

Thank you! .. I was given the bodice fabric over 10 years ago so I’m afraid I don’t remember its origin. The skirt fabric is from a shop in Goldhawk Road in London. 😉
This is lovely! ❤

I’ve been so excited for this video! Absolutely gorgeous and skilled work! You definitely inspire me in my own 18th century sewing projects! Do you have any plans to do a video on how you made your Outlander Claire Wedding Dress inspired gown for Fetes Galantes? I think that’s the first gown I saw of yours and it ended up being one of the things that inspired me to go to the Fete myself in 2024 and make two Robe a la Francaises for me and my guest! It’s absolutely gorgeous and a piece of art, and if you had a making of video of it I would probably watch and rewatch it 1000 times over! ♥️

Wow thank you so much for the lovely comments! 🥰 .. Well I don’t know if you spotted it but there is a little Easter egg in the background of some of the clips.. 😄 and yes my next video will be the outlander collection where I will show the wedding dress, the red dress and the new Scottish one! 😉 Really excited about showing it again. I’m so glad you like it and that it inspired you to go to Versailles! I hope you had a wonderful evening! I will definitely be going again next year so hopefully see you there? 😘

Oh Yay! I’m be very much looking forward to seeing the Outlander video once it’s released! As for Fetes Galantes, although my mother (who went with me) and I adored the 2024 event and would love to do it again, we did spend quite a bit of money to attend this year (coming from the States) so finance wise I don’t know if we can do the Fete again in 2025. But, we’ll see!!! I would love to see you there or at another costume event! Also, quick construction question. When you say you “fused the silk” do you mean you used a fusible interfacing to give it more structure? Or it is something else? Thanks! ❤
You’re last life was in that era.
