That's actually a very practical design... unlike most of the other builds on this channel. They are fun, but not really safe and practical. This compressor is seemingly quite safe, silent, decently powerful and even good looking.... Good job!

When I watch one of your videos I always think "Well that will be hard to beat!" Then you turn around with a video like this one and I get blown away once again. I bow to you and your friends, you are far greater than I as a mere mortal.

...a coil plugged into mains? (a simple transformer can be used for stick welding...)

You can make a TIG welder out of an car alternator.... he could do that. That would be a neat build to see on the channel.

A MIG may be difficult. Arc would be simple and has been done with MOT's (microwave oven transformers). You could probably make a flux core wire welder fairly easily.

Two car batteries and you can arc weld.

Keep in mind that A/C compressors rely on cold temperatures from the low pressure suction line to keep the compressor's "head" cool. If run for prolonged periods of time, you may burn up the compressor. Outside air contains moisture which mixes with the oil in the compressor to form acids, which will eventually eat up the windings.

Also, doesn't the recycled refrigerant contain, or act as a lubricant that free air would not. I would think over time corrosion would develop and lock the compressor up.

Normaly to avoid failure on the connection between the compressor and the tank, either copper pipe or cooling of the air is used before using rubber as it is prone to melt

it will work great but the amount of litres per minit is really low. so for the nail tacker and if you want to blow of dust it will work for sanding drilling and a air hammer it cant keep up.

Nor do I have the desire to make one let alone know how to weld. Still badass to watch
