Making a Studio Super Clamp

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

I bought a new flood light for the shop and I needed a new studio super clamp. These are easy to make. Using my design I will show you how I made mine.
Materials List: small piece of 3/4" plywood, 2 3/4 inches of 1/4 " all thread rod, 1/4" flat washer, camera mount adapter, and 1/4" wing nut or knob.

Great idea Cip. If it starts to slip on that pole as it wears, glue a strip of sandpaper inside the clamp hole for more grip.

Howdy Kerry! Good Idea; I had a similar thought, but I was thinking leather, cardboard or rubber. Rubber is hard to glue. Thanks for your input. Cheers

Howdy Dark Horse! DIY when you have the stuff laying around the shop. I never saw anyone turn a pig. I need to give that a try. All the Best.

Hello there Jim! This is the second shower pole I put up. The first was so I could slide the shop light over to the chop saw. This one is to illuminate the background for the videos. Thanks for watching. Cheers

Neat! But why did you use a commercial wing nut rather than making your own using a scrap of plywood and a T-nut?

Howdy Louie! Your suggestion is a good alternative. I was going to use the steel wingnut from my parts drawer when I found the old black knob I had salvaged. DIY plus use what you got. Cheers
