Already from the trailer you can feel the quality of this gentleman here. One question, would you recommend this course to anyone who uses Blender to sculpt? Or Zbrush is crucial to this process?

this is Wacom Pro. yea opted for smaller scope example to encourage that. But maybe something else in the future we'll see

Wow what a great course. Even the skin shaders are created from the scratch and using the alphas for skin detailing instead of texturingxyz. But unfortunately, I don't have money to buy this. :(

Curious about what processor you using on your workstation? Great work bud!

thank you! I've used several on this project. anything in a decent gaming PC would do the trick. think this is a 10 core. Memory and GPU make a big difference on speed and smoothness of work though too

the Shaman character I did was just for demonstration purposes. Students are encouraged to choose and create their own character models.

please try to price it regionally. there is no way i can buy this at full price because of where i live (i can already see it haha) and i do want to support your work.

Blender or Maya + Zbrush + Substance 3D Painter+ Marvelous Designer (which a lot of these courses leave out - - I get it, it's an extra step and more paid software, which narrows the audience) is a solid combo. Blender has sculpting tools, but if you used Zbrush for a week, you'd see what people prefer it. Does Maxon have horrid, disgusting prices? 100%. But Zbrush can't be beat for it's wide range of tools and how smoothly it process high detail meshes.

concept art was good, but the 3d character came out "out of character", she's too young for a shaman, you're falling into the modern hollywood trend where every female is a "master" in her early 20ties

please explain why Maya is needed in this sequence of character creation. I'm a beginner and would like to know. @artofjhill

It’s the most common DCC for games and movies. It’s still mostly preferred by animators and studios have long time investments in in-house tools and expertise they’ve built for Maya. In other words if you had to learn just one DCC to work as a character artist for games, it would still by Maya imo. But Blender had a bright future and may become the standard eventually
