They would've gotten it to work but the project was canceled. The Wall-E that we saw was a prototype, so yea it broke down a lot. They didnt continue with the project because the animatronic was too heavy, so heavy that if it ran over a foot, it would most certainly break it. This version of Wall-E, while really cool, wouldn't stand a chance when faced with hundreds of destructive kids a day. He would be unusable within a matter of days. The amount of work needed to create a Wall-E animatronic that was resilient enough to handle being used daily, but light enough to be safe around little toes, well the popularity of Wall-E wasnt enough to warrant the budget needed. The majority of fans are people that grew up with Wall-E, all people that are grown up. Disney aims its budget at things that will appeal to young childeren, like Frozen, and the Muppets. Things that are still making money, which sadly doesnt include Wall-E.

I would pay a decently hefty sum for this little guy. Wall-E by far is my favorite movie from my childhood. Just seeing this is giving me nostalgia.

This is the coolest thing I have ever seen. I have loved the movie and the character since it was released and it is still my all time favorite Pixar movie. This was such a great build and it looks so much like the actual animated version.

Should’ve made the eyes as cameras then you could watch on a screen where it’s going as it is on the film then it would’ve been even more of a replica of wallE. Here’s a cool idea of another cool robot you could possibly build. You should try and build a replica of the terminator. Obviously not to be as dangerous as he is in the film like😂. I’LL BE BACK😂😂

Just like with R2's, there's only so much you can automate safely. One wrong reflection or errant sensor reading, and you've got a 100lb. robot running over some kid's foot with open-toed shoes.

Actually, someone was developing baymax before the movie, and what the finished product was supposed to be is what baymax was in the movie. So baymax is real, he just isn't fully developed yet.
