Making a Raw Montana Sapphire into a Wedding Ring
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
How neat is it to take a stone from the ground, cut it, and then make it into a custom ring? The only thing neater I suppose is having a video to go along with it!
Montana sapphires are some of my favorite stones and getting to go to the Blue Jewel Mine in Montana on the famed Eldorado bar in order to mine it myself was a real treat. I hope you guys enjoyed the video of this one being made!

Thanks that means a lot!
Omg I love this, it’s absolutely stunning you’ve done an incredible job! One of my most favorite stones out there!
As a former dental technician who specialized in crown and bridge fabrication (with gold and porcelain), your video makes me miss working with metals. Taking a design from wax to cast metal is fun , but the best part is the finishing and polishing. They end result is pure joy. Thanks . I could jump right into jewelry is only I had the equipment.

I wouldn't say they are the best, they are definitely beautiful though. Feldspar type gemstones are one of my personal favorites, but I become weak over rough gemstones that have Asterism or Cat's Eye effect or titanium oxide/Rutile/Hematite inclusions, such as Corundum and Feldspar both
Great video man like always. The ring turned out amazing. Peace brother 😁👍

You’re killing it man. To go from making coin rings to fine jewellery like this completely from scratch in just the space of a few years is amazing! Thanks for all the great content!

Very nice.
That's really cool. I've been a blacksmith for years and I just recently started working with silver and gold, so seeing these different techniques is very interesting to me. For a relatively simple design like this, do you prefer lost-wax over creating it from existing stock? Or did you do it this way more as a demonstration? To my mind (and I haven't done any lost-wax, mind), it seems to take more time and potentially have more risk if the casting goes awry.

Thanks! Lost wax is definitely my preferred. When you fabricate, it is more time consuming and all your filing loses all that metal. Lost wax saves all that. And carving wax is so much less time consuming.
Super cool. Well done.

Nice work. Just got into Faceting but no metal work yet 😂
Beautiful facet. I've plenty of raw sapphires (small & medium-sized) I'll check your website.
Is that a six-rayed star cut? love those, have one I've done in Topaz and its wonderful
👍
nice work
I want to make one that would be fun
i would open 6 windows for the main stone to suck more light from the sides so there would be more shine to it. Also for hexagon shapes there can be 4 open slot on the top so light can go in go out from all the sides while corners can hold the stone. none the less great job mate.
Amazing
