Making a quilted project bag inspired by PetiteKnit

To make this bag, I measured the bottom of a project bag I already had and loved.
The bottom's diameter was 21cm, multiply that by 3.14 to find the circumference which is 66cm. The circumference is the length needed for the "body" panel of the bag. Add a seam allowance to the "body" panel and adjust accordingly.
You could do this same process at home with a plate, placemat, lamp, vase, anything!
Hope you enjoyed & good luck!

How clever and cute is that! What a terrific project, thanks for sharing how you did it😊. And yeah, kitty eating in the background and joyful squeals from that adorable baby with the top of his head visible , ugh, too cute. Made me smile, thank you!
When I first saw the Petite knit bag I said “ oooo I can make that “ well after seeing the price I know I can and this is the inspiration I needed 😂
The cat in the backround eating is the cutest 😮🥰
Very inspired, thank you! I'm missing this bag/bags for my projects :)
Great! so beautiful! and Arthur' intervention is such a pleasure!
The bag turned out fantastic
Another great video Bethany! I’m like you can rarely justify spending the money when I have all of the materials myself. And then I have more money for yarn and other specialty notions I can’t make myself. They’re such a great way to use up scraps of fabric and I often gift them to fellow knitting friends. 😊
I just made one of these today! It was my first time "quilting". Thanks so much for the inspiration
I've been listing after the petiteknit bag for so long. Only if I could sew I would whip this up like you. That's the beauty of handmade, all the imperfections are what makes it personal and perfect!
Your outfit is stunning. Always love to see how you style your knits!
This was such an inspiring video tuturial! I've sewn some simple project bags before but they weren't very sturdy. I think I might try quilting and making this bag you made this weekend 😄 It'll be definitly cheaper than the real Petiteknit bag and so much more special because I made it myself 😊

100% more special! I hope you give it a go :)
So cute!!! I just use tote bags for project bags because I can’t sew, but I really love this one!!
The bag looks fab Bethany......I might have a go at one myself! Thanks for sharing "your project". 😊
Love it! Inspiring. I might join in - I need a sewing project to see how my machine is working after a few years in the closet
Oh my goodness I am also obsessed with the petite knit bag! I kept hoping she would sell a pattern to make it but alas she has not. I have made the Cool Stitches Frankie bag as a gift for my mother in law and had been thinking of making one for myself also but I much prefer the bucket/ round bottom style of the petite knit one. I am absolutely going to give this a go! Thank you ❤
This is a great idea! Really enjoyed this, just like your video repurposing your swatches into a swatch bag.
Last year I saw the PetiteKnit bags and really wanted one, but like you, just could not justify the price tag when I had fabric and wadding sat in my stash. I used a paid pattern the Bucket Bag on Etsy by Kandoupatterns. It’s my favourite project bag and I hope to make more soon. I love that you did this without a pattern tho! That’s awesome xx
I have a yard of brown gingham fabric I bought on a whim. I've been searching for a small enough project for it and I think this is going to do just the trick! This will knock two things off my list as I've been looking for a new knitting project bag. Thank you for the lovely idea, your bag is beautiful!
love love love this!!! i'm very new to sewing but this makes me excited to try! Maybe not the quilting part but the basic construction of this bag looks super approachable. Thanks for sharing!
Love this! I so want to make my own project bag now
You did a really good job. It a pretty bad. Thank you for sharing ❤
Ooh that turned out lovely! I don't know how to sew, though maybe someday I'll start learning 😊
Would love to see how you finish Arthur's quilt!
Love this tutorial. I’ll have to make it. Would love a tutorial on a quilted pouch 😀
totes making one of these asap...
Benson fan here🐾...nice make Jenna.
I love the bag you made. I think I will have to try it out

I hope you do!
The idea is just fantastic! I made one project bag from faux leather fabric, but I definetelly want one linen, or maybe double gaze cotton? Yours look beautiful!
I only discovered you recently, and I'm so glad I did. Love the project bag. I really like the cream sweater you are wearing at the start of this video. Could you tell me whose pattern it is, please? Keep casting, you brighten my day. Glad to see baby gets to pass an opinion you can never start them too young. Michelle UK

I’m so glad you did too! It’s the no frills sweater by petite knit :)
So cool! Def more cost effective than the petite knit bags 😂
Maybe iron your fabric first before you start cutting
Your project bag turned out really cute! I'd use it just the way it is. 💜✌️🧶
