Making a jeweler’s saw
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
This video is all about a very special gift I am making for my dear friend and fellow KZreadr Nick Palliser
Nick is one of those people who is endlessly curious to try things; he shares this endless curiosity in his KZread channel, please visit him at Dadsinhisworkshop: bit.ly/3d1b0Zk and see a self-taught blacksmith, knife maker, craftsman and novice jeweler in action!
I hope you enjoy the video
Jimmy

I dont know why i find it so humorous that you can almost make a jewelry saw with a jewelry saw
Εξαιρετική δουλειά 👌👌

I just received my saw today its called "Knew Concept".
I have just received this stunning tool in the post. I am beyond words Dimitris. A million thank you's. Watching the video is amazing seeing this superb instrument come to life. I have to say it is something particularly special receiving a jeweller's saw made by the master of the use of the jewellers saw which you demonstrate in this video. Thank you thank you thank you.

Bravo! Great work. It brings back good memories of my childhood when I was introduced to fretwork. This is in them1960's when I lived in Thessaloniki.

Another great video and project. Thanks for sharing, it's always nice to watch you work, every time I watch one of your videos, I feel like going up to my shop and tackling another project. My nephew needs a few pieces for one of his custom guitar builds, I guess it's time for me to get to work.

Thank you very much my friend! I am glad to share, as always. I really appreciate what you said; it sounds familiar, because every time I'm starting a project I'm thinking "what is the right sequence of operations, how Marc would do this" Thank you for being the teacher you are! Your friend Dimitris
Beautiful work, reminds me of those knew concepts saws just with a more pleasing look. Concerning your anodizing problems. I think it is either a contact issue (simply bad connection or corosion) or your current density is to high. However im not an expert just an experienced idiot in his garage.

Thank you very much for the comment sir, I appreciate it! As for tool you're asking its called diamond tool holder and you can find it here: www.eccentricengineering.com.au/ They have dealers in UK and US, you can ask for more info. Cheers Jimmy
Great work Jimmy, great work! A couple of questions so I learn something more. 1. What are the properties of the Calmax steel that made you choose it for the ferule? 2. Do you reckon going a bit thicker (3/16" maybe) on the saw frame would be an overkill? Take care jimmy and do enjoy your new machine tools!! k.

Thank you for your comment, I appreciate it! I choose Calmax steel for three reasons, it's tough, resists corrosion and can polished to almost mirror finish. I think 3/16" would be better on a deeper frame (like an 8"). For this one, 1/8" is more than adequate. Thanks again. Cheers Jimmy

How come the greek Cyrillic looks less threatening than the Russian version?
