@@vogtrina I second this! I am not a super tall girl, but a lot of the time clothes will be too short or wide for me. Learning how to sew and tailor clothing to fit me has been a life saver, I can basically wear anything I want now even if it doesn't fit me in store. A few small adjustments later and it's perfect :D Great skill to learn, and the best part is, it's easy to learn the basics and grow from there. Practicing on old damaged clothes or cheap stuff from the thrift store is how I learned, no teaching required really, just a steady, skillful hand or a sewing machine.

For these suits, yes. For a factory made suit it is the materials, which is why they keep trying to use polyester and similarly cheap materials. Always go for wool, linen, or cotton, and dont do many blends
I always have strong admiration for a craftsmanship of this kind, I'm both left-handed for those.

That’s great! I am learning to sew and learning to tailor my own clothing, it is interesting to see individuals creating such incredible works of art. I think that Korean tailors have the finest quality pieces and I hope to have something made there when I travel. I hope to travel to different places around the world and have pieces made everywhere. I hope one day to find you there, I believe in your dream of becoming a tailor.
bro i dont know who you are but let me just say this...your wrist control, finesse and attention to detail...incredible! Not to mention the camera angles, focus and editing?!?! The individuals that put their hands together to make this, i commend and respect it because you can tell how serious about the art they are. I don't even like asmr lol I just clicked because of the suit and pattern making and ended up stumbling on complete masterpiece!
Nobody else here wondering how much something like this costs? Because here in the UK id have to sell my arm and leg to get this level of service and quality. I guess if I did sell my limbs the suit would be cheaper... Hmmm

Well, depends on the material, the maker and the amount of customization that goes into it, but it's safe to say that a completely bespoke suit to your exact measurements could go from 2500-3000£ all the way to 20,000£ and beyond.

Exactly. Especially Korean made items, they’re of some of the finest quality there and whilst I hope to have something made there, I’d have to sell a few limbs to even get just the jacket. I do suppose if I sell an arm it’ll be cheaper…

Always interesting to watch how other tailors do things. However, did this tailor use the same shears for paper and cloth (going by the small mark on one of the blades)? That is a huge NoNo in my book. Paper blunts the blades and you need to have them sharpened more often! Other than that, great video.

@thatguykalem

@@gravygraves5112 To this specification, which seems bespoke (i.e. made to order by the tailor completely by hand), thousands of dollars. You need to go to a master tailor for this kind of thing but at a lower price, made-to-measure (MTM) works fine.
@thatguykalem

@@gravygraves5112 I should say too, bespoke means the pattern (the cut of the suit) is fully customisable and tailored completely to your body. MTM uses stock patterns that can be altered but not fully customised or tailored to your exact specification.

Amazingly, textile production is one of the only industries that is still unable to be automated, due to the unpredictability and adaptive handling required for it. Even to make a basic T-shirt industry still resorts to a production line as the most "efficient" way to produce. Reassuring to know that skills aren't futile, but it is definitely the cause for many ethical labour issues.
I love this kind of souds.. awesome 👌
