Making a Handmade "California" Pattern Crossdraw Holster - Leather ASMR
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
In this video I make an old west style "California" Slim Jim pattern cross draw leather holster featuring spots (domed rivets). The shell and inner lining is veg-tan, the outer covering is suede. This holster was designed for the the 1851 Navy and its cartridge conversions. It's actually a remake of a design I made years ago.
Tooling used in this video:
Craftool Pro D2192
Craftool 347
Braid Border Leather Stamp R451 (available at ProLeatherCarvers)
Domed rivets available from Tandy:

I enjoy your set up as well as the patterns to truly make it feel like a unique piece worthy of display. Too often I see leather work with no flair. Bravo. Also just subscribed.

Thanks!. Yes, I'm always looking for a better knife. This one is a Flexcut Mini-Pelican
Excellent craftsmanship as always. Where's those choice words some of use when something like those spots happens to us, lol?
I stumbled onto your KZread channel just recently. I think I watched 10 or more videos in a row. Very cool. You are a true artist. While watching this video, you used several different types of leather, it reminded me of one of my old baseball gloves for some reason. Would you ever consider doing other leather projects like a baseball glove???
Beautiful work as always. Toe plug came out great! I have yet to attempt one. Happy Thanksgiving Road Agent!
Excellent work! Beautiful craftsmanship! What type and weight of leather do you recommend for holsters? Thanks in advance.
Awesome holster! Another finely made piece of craftsmanship! What kind of revolver did you put in it?

Had a laugh - my mom has that same pyrex you used at 4:08. A question on dye application - are you using a wool pad? Can you reuse them once dry/only with same colour?
Can you make a holster and video for a Colt Buntline revolver ?
🥰🥰
Anyone have any recommendations for a good leather glue? Rubber cement ain’t cutting it for me anymore
Trimming it after you sew it!? I think that’s Illegal in my state. :)
