Is it possible to make a mold from the painted hood (plug) of a car without damaging the finish? Would multiple layers of wax, then PVA be enough to protect the paint? Could you use polyester GEL coat or would an Epoxy GEL be less damaging? I guess, if the wax-PVA layer is perfectly applied, there would be no problem. Great informational videos, best on the web. Thank you for producing them.

If you spray the clear after the demolding step would you have to wet sand and then polish since it might have orange peel?

in this case i think its a gel coat / clear coat. some spray mold release like that prior to layup. I've also heard of, but never seen, primer-in-mold, essentially being able to pop a pre-primered panel straight out of the mold. In this case the clear is probably for UV protection. I could be wrong.
