Making £1000 from Free wood

I was given some free wood by the guy in the village called Dickie who collects wood
He gave me 12 pine bed slats and two pieces of wood that were very heavy.
Dickie said he didn't know what the wood was but he was worried it was Indian death wood! He said he had read about a wood where is you got one splinter in your skin it would kill you and he told me to be careful
I wanted to make £1000 for a cancer research charity as my brother in law sadly died last year from bowel cancer. So I tried to make 50 small catchall trays too raise the £1000
See if I was successful and see if i survived the Indian death wood
If you would like a tray please DM me on Instagram to see if I have any left

Second! I know you've told me how much work went into these, but Im honestly impressed with your woodworking stamina doing all that work, but in the end they turned out great! A really nice project with a good cause.

Hi Keith, I don’t even know it exists. The old guy Dickie who gave me the wood just said he hoped it wasn’t Indian death wood , one splinter and then a week later your dead, so the name Indian death wood stuck. It’s a really heavy dark wood someone said it looks like A wood called EKI I’ve never heard of that either but thanks for watching

Hi Steve thanks for the reply, when you said get a splinter from it that rang a few bells meaning yes i have heard of it happening but i didn't know about Indian ☠ death wood, Thanks for the information, The piece of work that you did was lovely and didn't look too difficult to do I'll have a go minus the hard Indian many thanks mate

Pallet wood is probably more likely to hurt you, simply because it can be contaminated by whatever was on the pallet leaching into the timber.
