He’s a cosmetic chemist. It’s his job to professionally and scientifically say how it is, it’s his professional opinion so it’s his job to say in fairness all goods and bads, not sure how you can be derogatory towards a product though, since derogatory means to show offensive/disrespectful attitude towards something which, unless it’s causing physical adverse effects, it would just be the truth or an opinion that supports the facys

ME TOO. Javon seems to consistently give honest information without getting snobbish, he's just focusing on the most important aspects to look out for which is actually a helpful takeaway. Cosmetics are not easily accessible with a tight budget and none of us needs to feel bad on the inside because people make us think we can't afford to feel good on the outside.

I don't know if it's good for your own wellbeing if you IDENTIFY with a price point. The money you make and loose is always up to you. It's like a video game; yes some people have jt harder than others but it's something that is pretty neutral in nature unless you want it to have a meaning.

​@@LunarEleven I think you have larger issues if expensive makeup makes you feel bad You can appreciate him for how he handled it but honestly I think you need some self reflection to do if you're happy he didn't offend or make you feel bad... It just makes me worried thinking what makes you feel bad otherwise. Not just you but others who feel this way. Feelings are temporary and praising someone just for not making you feel bad is odd and subjective.

You must RECTIFY this mistake ASAP!!!!I I totally agree with the other commenters.Please change the title and give him what he deserves!!!!! He worked hard for this!!!! HE IS A COSMETIC CHEMIST!!!!

As a chemist, I personally would be frustrated if a video featuring me using my chemistry knowledge boiled my title down to “makeup expert” 🙃

This was more effective at convincing me to buy expensive products than any influencers videos have ever been tbh 😭

I'm 40 and just starting to wear foundation for the first time, and this video alone has been way more helpful than anything else I've seen. It's as you say, he's not just very well informed, he knows how to convey his knowledge in a way that is effective. Makeup is sooo overwhelming these days, especially if you can't afford to try a lot of products, I wish everyone was this helpful 😅

Javon did so well, I learnt so much. He was charismatic and so engaging, please bring him back for more videos. I loved his easy and short explanations.

I'm in STEM. He is a chemist, specializing in cosmetic chemistry, which would make him an expert in makeup formulation as well as other cosmetic products. The title is not technically wrong, but I think it should be paraphrased or revised. "Cosmetic chemist and makeup expert Javon Ford, guesses expensive vs. cheap foundation products" I would actually subscribe and watch Allure if Javon Ford and other scientists were featured often

Seeing Javon on tiktok then seeing him here makes me smile. He is incredibly intelligent & breaks down chemical info in a realistic fashion that’s not pushing expensive products all the time.

Now granted I know that he’s in the professional field of cosmetics, but sometimes I wish influencers were a little more informational about certain things. Maybelline Matte and Poreless isn’t full coverage, though. He said it was more sheer. I recommend the L’Oréal Infallible Fresh Wear, though it can be finicky. It looks best on me when blended with fingertips. Also has an amazing shade range. Good luck with your search!

This was informative... I wish I had seen a video like this when I was a teen/20s, when I was wearing heavy foundations, it could've helped with knowing what to look for when chosing foundations

There has to be some etiquette when properly addressing a professional. A cosmetic chemist and a makeup expert are most often separated. The later used for makeup artists whose area of expertise is not in the same depth as actual ingredient knowledge and process.

Javon is amazing. I thought it would be just testing on his face but the amount of knowledge he give us is amazing.

This was really cool, I would watch a whole show of this. Foundation and concealer is so intimidating sometimes, I end up buying the same things over and over because I don’t know enough to try new brands or finishes/types of coverage.
