Maker Workshop - Personal Flight Recorder on Make: televisio

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

You can also turn any screw into a standard slotted or philips head screw with a dremel, That's what I usually do. :)

Did you know that you can make your own triwing screwdriver by heating a ballpoint pen and pushing it in the screw. Wait for it to cool off and their you have it. It might take a few tries but it works, I used that trick to unscrew my gamecube open a couple of years ago.

instead of using plexiglass to seal it, u can get the clear version of this case and cut the lcd slot into the rubber insert and attach it to that. also why not take apart the nunchuck and mount the guts of it inside the case?

you can buy a tri axis accelerometer from parallax. I they might have it in makershed as well. so you can lose the wii remote.

I dont see the meaning of having a small display on it on a rollercoaster, it's not like you're gonna sit and look at it all the time. I'd personally go with a memory of some kind, so I can look at it later. Also, if I'd used a nunchuck, I would've taken the casing of it, and then I'd mount it inside the yellow case.

Great build, really intresting and I'll have to try to make one of these. But I gotta say, wtf? The Orange Streak? Rock Bottom Plunge at the MOA would of been a much better roller coaster to use to test high-g's.

You don't have to use a WiiChuk, you can just order a 3-axis accelerometer module designed for arduino from eBay, then you can get the whole device inside the box. I ordered one a few days ago from China for 1.00 USD. Also, if you're just going to cut the box open, skip the expensive Pelican case and get something off brand. Same plastic, just as waterproof, and half the price.

That's right. A triaxial accelerometer like ADXL could replace the wiichuk and the whole thing could be much smaller like pocket sized.

Hm... Well i flew in a Plane and we pulled nearly 5g and i was able to breath... no problem... and at 8g you arent dead, you only get a "blackout" because your blood sinks down into your feet. Negative Gs are more "painful" i think :-D Blood pressure in your head going up xD -> redout(not dead!)

any Arduino will work, but if you use a duemilanove you already have everything scripted and you dont need to write your own script for another arduino.
