If you don’t have cord, you can use 2 sticks that have a Y on the end and interlock them with one that doesn’t. I teach this technique for building survival shelters.
Just a hint, I always carry paracord where ever I go. Solves a lot of problems.

You can easily pop a camo net over the sticks as well, and you're all hidden behind it

I had to make something similar this spring, forgot my tripod and made my own shooting sticks out of some small trees that a beaver chewed down.
thats why u carry cordage in ur rucksack for that for next time

I've seen a bunch of shooting sticks and I think I prefer the quad sticks or even possibly the version with a fifth stick for rear end stability. As far as "need" it could be easily argued you don't need any sticks.
