Made with 1/8" MDF, glue and paint. You can do the same thing with foamboard or cardboard without changing too much of the process.

    these look great! and just want to say I absolutely love the filming/editing style on this, not so much direct tutorial on how to make an exact replica, but just bringing us along for the ride as you make them to show us the required steps to create our own tiles

    Beautiful work, man. Some amazing editing/camera shots there, the dramatic close ups really looked great. Going to be making a battleboard myself soon, double-sided so one is industrial & the other side is tarmac/concrete. Great work, man

    I’m a carpenter with loads of Festool gear and find myself with spare systainers. So a set of these based around a basic 350mm x 250mm for the largest piece would mean I could keep more than enough for a whole skirmish in one box. I’ll let you know how I get on. Really like you videos. Please make some more if you find the time man.

    If you warm the cans up a little bit they have a much finer spray. I just let them sit in warm water for a few mins before I use them, especially when the outside temp is cool. Thanks!

    That was ment to be an undertone, but it got covered up by all the other layers of paint, even tho I was only spraying from one direction.

    Its just wash. Black ink, matte medium and water. I also dump any left over washes from mini painting in there. For the tiles I left it on really heavy to get the stains and grime.

    They weight about the same as a similarly sized book. If you don't have access to power tools and mdf, you can make the same thing, with the same techniques, out of cardboard or foam board.

    I made 11 tiles of different sizes and it took about 2 days, the wash had to try overnight.

    @@Berserkerworks thanks for the answer. I never use mdf / wood stuff, because it takes ages for me to work with it. 😅 But i would work longer on eleven tiles than 2 days anyway. Maybe I am just slow 😂 I consider giving it a try next time. 🤔 the result is just better as with anything flimsy.

    While I like the share of how you made them, using $1K worth of woodworking tools in a dedicated shop is not something most can afford or do.

    All the principles of the project can be applied to cheaper, easier to use materials and hand tools. These days you can also buy compact table saws and bandsaws for less than the price of a games workshop box set.
