Make your own Battle mat for your Scifi Skirmish Wargames.
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
How to make your own battlemat for Warhammer40k, Infinity, Realitys Edge, or any other game you want to play. The mat is made with a mixture of acrylic caulking, pva glue, sand and paint, spread over a canvas drop cloth. This mat has an urban theme but you can use these methods to build one for any environment and also any size you want. Check out the Frostgrave showcase video to see the snowy fantasy city mat I also made.
The buildings shown in the thumbnail and at the end of the video are from Every Little War. The boards I made from MDF.

Oh yea bud that's some Canadian Tire paint right there......"deck-el"! C A N A D I A N C O N F I R M E D. Where ya at? the "deckle" pronunciation makes me think farther west than Ontario. AB? SK? Of course! Using sand for the texture. I was trying so hard to figure out what would give me a nice street like texture. Awesome!

I’ve made a couple mats but never included the sand in the mixture, will definitely give it a try in the future. I would normally texture the straight caulking with plastic bags and scouring pads. As noted in the video I would “knock” things down a bit once it was dry by using a fresh scouring pad on any exceptionally spiked areas.
Hya mate best video I have seen on battlemats bloody good ,well done thanks

Awesome work my friend! Glad to see you've got it out. Wonderful editing and a good delivery of information. I would not have thought to use a piece of plywood as a form form for holding everything. I kinda want to use and expand on this idea to make little canvas and acrylic drop in roadways.
