I do a similar short "meditation" where I imagine on a scale of 1-10 where I am in the moment, then see if I can internally generate (often using rapid-fire somatic operations and focal shifts) the next higher number, then the next. Then I challenge myself to playfully hold the feeling as I open my eyes and move through the next project. Instead of trusting my current state and its default emotions, I go ahead and generate better ones that are more resourceful, flexible, and resilient. Boom.

Ali abdaal made it big. He is extremely talented, just to end up with selling dreams to the gullible people

BS: Feeling good doesn't last without Success

Feeling good is actually something you can generate in any moment (with a good technique) to stay focused on tasks that lead to successful outcomes. The brain doesn't care what's real or vividly imagined in the mind. It's the positive playful momentum we're reaching for, a state that makes the tasks easier to stay with, even reducing the time to mastering a skill. The more playful positivity associated each time the task is actuated, the more the brain will endorse the task in all future scheduling of that task. You then want to do it because of the aggregated pleasure it provided, the memory. It's the same pleasure systems that endorse drugs, alcohol, video games, etc. This time, we use intention and choose the addiction to a productive resource for building wealth, health, networks, etc. There are also good techniques for intentionally extinguishing the memories of pleasure from bad habits so the brain no longer endorses them, making initiation and focus easier.

Let me say this: "Ali Abdaal is NOT a productivity expert". He got a MD from Cambridge. He might study really hard during the time but that alone did not make him more an expert than any other graduates from Cambridge. Abdaal is a YT influencer selling overpriced courses to his fans. No originality whatsoever.

I'd suggest saving your money on the course and instead; 1. Decide what it is you want 2. Get a coach 3. Do the work

@@jumhed994 very ironic, productivity is no longer used to do real work but a feel-good game. It is a form of entertainment\procrastination which becomes increasingly unproductive.

@@edkk2010 I've lived this. Used to spend loads of time trying to find the most efficient methods to do The Thing rather than actually do The Thing. To paraphrase Alex Hormozi; 'Eff your morning routine. Just wake up and do the work.'

Aren’t the hacks science-based? If so, he doesn’t need to be an expert, he just needs to read and communicate the science well

Nice review of a mediocre book. Total pastiche for the most part.
