100% I drive a 2005 Accord LX with 450k miles, my net worth is $2 million and I live on $2k per month! The only 2 things of value I wear are a Sinn 556 and a gold chain! That's it!

Please, stop that. Don't waste your time clipping coupons. Old cars are the most expensive to maintain. You don't have to buy a brand new one but a car more than a couple of years old is a no-go. As for your clothes, you can buy them anywhere, but stay away from polyester items and the 70% poly,30% cotton stuff. That's cheap, won't last more than a couple of weeks and looks frumpy. It's also uncomfortable to wear in warm weather. Being a millionaire is not what it used to be. Their middle-class today.

@@SuccessTools-hn4ri The trouble is, it takes a lot of resourses (compared to 20 to 30 years ago) to be able to afford a middle- class life-style. By middle class, I mean, owning your property, owning at least one car, having no significant debt, having set money aside ( for unexpected emergencies), having health insurance, car- insurance, being able to save for retirement, being able to invest in a pension- fund, having invested money for retirement, being able to travel (at least twice a year), being able to pay for your children's education, being able to fund unexpected emergencies, paying all of your bills on time. The list is long, but that's what I think is middle class. Rich people own multiple properties, multiple cars, fly private or first class, own land, are able to substain their life- style indefinitely without having to work. So, it's not just nunbers, it's what you can afford or not. Another point: It's often said that rich people are frugal. Well, not really. What they call frugality and what the rest of the people call frugal are two different things. Then, there are big differences between rich people, in terms of money. Some are barely rich, others are far beyond that threshold. Rich people don't like to be called rich and they don't like poor people. They often come from generational wealth. They're successful, but they didn't start out with nothing.

Many businesses go broke. That's not the owner's fault.

Although a landmark study, this book is seriously deficient. It does not say how to become a millionaire. It does not give the steps or instruct the reader on how to become wealthy. I was a broke 24-year-old who just left my teaching job and read this book. It did absolutely nothing to help me. Dave Ramsey and the Money Guys were much better instructors on the actual process of becoming wealthy.

Thanks for sharing! "The Millionaire Next Door" focuses on the habits of millionaires. It might not be as practical as Dave Ramsey or the Money Guys for step-by-step guidance.

@@SuccessTools-hn4ri Let me add a small caveat to my story, I did this while paying child support and paid off my 1st house off zero new anything, didn't go anywhere, didn't eat well, it was a miserable existence for the first 10 years my late 20s mid 30s, I'm 50 now and stronger than ever I get to do what I want when I want! It's an awesome feeling my friend!
