You skipped the editing part?

yeah, what i really want to see is how you actually produce the video...how do you record it, how do you edit it, how do you color grade it, how do you upload it. this was an awesome part 1, but basically its saying have your recording set up ready, use presets that you like, which is all awesome advice, but would love to see more.

what is the difference between a power grade and a LUT?

LUT is like a filter. It alters colors and style of the clip. Power grade is saved node tree which can include color changes but also any other type of node. And power grades can be accessed across all projects in the database

@@initialfocus follow-up question... i work on a team and for the most part i am the only one using resolve. one of the main editors just got the studio version but just for color grading. can the power grade be exported for use in premier ?

i mostly shoot b-roll, and do pre-edits of our live cam footage for the main production team.

@jadefinchscene5644 no, unfortunately premiere works on layer based systems. If you grade a look you want to be able to be easily applied to clips, use LUTs since any software can use those

@@initialfocus premier loads them funny, so we are working on finding out what is not working properly. the grade comes out slightly over exposed. but this is a him problem. i just render my work out ready to use. he wants to edit in premier and grade in resolve but just port LUTs out so the other editor can use them and not need resolve at all. kinda silly not to just use resolve all the way imo
