I recall doing this similar "create-ice-cream-in-a-ziploc-bag" craft/cooking activity, during the summer of 2002 (age 11) ... Despite the camp counselor's obvious attitude for their paycheck (in other words, they were mostly full of rudeness and favoritism), I actually had fun "summer camp 2002" memories, with such an activity ... 🤩😍🤩

So I work with Elementary school children at a daycare and we just did this today. They shook it for over 20+ minutes and we couldn’t get it to go solid 😢 They still drank it cause it was very delicious and chilled, but it was more like whipped cream than ice cream. We followed the recipe exactly, so I truly don’t know what went wrong, but I digress. They still had a blast and loved doing it, so 10/10 recommend!

Yes, you need quite alot salt. When you get it, it is delicious

Also make sure you use crushed ice. Crushed has more surface area and will freeze ice cream more efficiently.

Thank you Claudia, me and the kids made ice cream tonight with this instruction!!

1 cup of whole milk 1 cup of heavy whipping cream 1/4 cup sugar 1 tsp vanilla -grab a ziploc bag and pour the ice cream mixture in it -close the bag and set it aside -grab another ziploc bag and pour some ice next add some salt 1/4 cup in the ice. place rhe ice cream mixture onto the ice. start shaking the bag

Love this video and recipe 🩷! Made it twice already, once with almond milk and again with the whole milk! Great both times. It wasn’t as firm as this video after 5 minutes of shaking, but putting it in the freezer for a few hours did the trick 👍🏿! Thanks again for sharing 🤗😋🥰!

Nonetheless my buttermilk ice cream was the best in town and so glad I got to try it doing this once and done method.

I also heard you can use 1/2 & 1/2 coffee cream instead of heavy whipping cream.

mam is it essential to put heavy wipping cream

Guys I found the best trick, put it in a drawstring bag and add a small towel inside. Then just put it in the dryer and set it to air dry and wait 5-10 minutes and it’s done

Not a bad method, you should try it!

I did a half cup half and half cup half of milk. 2 tbs of sugar, and some chocolate syrup. I did all of the rest the same with the ice and stuff. Did not work..

Just made it for the second time such a good recipe

you dont even need cream it works with just any milk basically

This is so awesome! I can't wait to try it. I have one question. Can I use another sweetener like monk fruit, erythritol, stevia? And will it sill get that consistency if I use 2% milk and no cream? I LOVE ice cream and I've been anxious to make one that's less impactful on my weight so I can have it more often in the summer. Thanks for this awesome recipe!
