Make Evolving Atmospheric Music w/ White Noise & Ableton Live 11

Learn how to make atmosphere/nature sounds that continuously evolve with Ableton Live 11's Operator device. This technique is done using white noise and filtering to give an organic and relaxing atmosphere/nature/storm/wind etc sound texture. This same technique can also be applied in Ableton's Analog and Simpler/Sampler devices with a white noise sample. Have fun, learn a new technique, and if you want further Ableton Live Sound Design videos drop a like and subscribe!!

    Thank you. Lots of people like this video. I think I'm going to make a follow up and explain some of the other filter types and how they can add their own extra special twists to white noise. Band pass filter is a good one to start. and then we can combine the inputs from all these different filters into a composite output. thanks!!!

  • @Jemeneye7

    I actually just changed the title to something more appropriate. Tbh, when I uploaded the video I just wrote the title and didn't really think twice. But you and a few others very kindly pointed out that it wasn't the most correct title due to "music" being in the title which might suggest to people that I'm creating something a bit more "tonal" and "melodic" rather than an atmospheric sound texture created through white noise. I've made the edit to the title bc I think the edit makes the video better bc I want to be as transparent as possible. Thank you for your comment and I'm glad you still dug the video and hopefully had fun and learned a really amazing technique!! 🙌🏼

  • @Jemeneye7

    @Jemeneye7

    2 жыл бұрын

    Yes of course, as with everything in Ableton, multiple ways... The first is you could open an Audio Track and set it to "Resampling" and then start recording (I can't remember if I did Resampling in that video, but I've done it in many of my other videos). Also, and the most common way to simply record an output in Ableton is to create a midi track, and then put it on the timeline (In Ableton's Arrangement page) and then export it out. I hope this helps! Also, check the channel I've dropped lots of videos over the past 2 weeks and more to come. Creative resampling is something I do in lots of my videos.

  • @Jemeneye7

    @Jemeneye7

    2 жыл бұрын

    Thank you for your comment. I certainly don't want to be misleading to anyone bc I realize everyone's time is valuable and should not be wasted. Did you enjoy the tutorial or learn anything from it? Titles are very important although the quality of the tutorial is more important imo. I believe that "Evolving Atmospheric Music" is what we created, didn't we? The sound evolves and it's an atmosphere. Maybe you were wanting it to be more tonal or pitched and more musical? If that's what you were searching for something that was musical and not just an Evolving Atmosphere, then I can understand why you would be disappointed. I hope this video didn't waste your time and perhaps you learned a few techniques in Ableton that might help you. If you'd like you can suggest a tutorial that would be more helpful to what you're trying to create/accomplish and I can make one for you. I'm always looking for new tutorial ideas!!

    Evolving Atmospheric Texture would probably be more to the point! i also expected something else.. like brian eno or something) evolving, but with some kind of harmony or notes, as opposed to just filtered noise which is also nice tho) cool video tho, and good humor)
