Hey friends! Today I'm going to be teaching you how to create your own evolving pad sound in Ableton Live 11! I'm using Wavetable in this one, but you can use pretty much any synth you like, the same techniques apply. :)

Great work! Explained clear and easy to follow. Just out of curiosity, your sound design with effects is quite CPU heavy. Switching my computer to Performance Mode helped immensely. No more clicks and pops. Just curious what you were running as far as computer credentials? Thanks so much for this, I’ll be checking out your other vids. Cheers!

I'm running an M1 Max Mac Studio, so uhh, it's a bit of a beast, hahaha! That said, you can take similar concepts and just apply with less CPU intense effects if it gets too intense. Or as you said, switch to performance mode or do something like increase the buffer size a bit. Thanks for watching! :)

Recently I jumped ship of Bitwig after their disaster with paid content. Even though ableton instruments sound really good the workflow is just dated when compared to bitwig modulators. Ableton really need to step up their game at usability… It’s not 2000 anymore. What modulation matrix when all other synths now drag and drop mod… 🤦‍♂️

I actually think the workflow of Wavetable in particular is really good. Yes the modulators in Bitwig are awesome (and I wish that they were implemented in Live!), but there are PLENTY of synths that don't use drag/drop modulators. Having a modulation matrix and using that is also a really great way of understanding all of the modulation going on in the synth at once, and because Wavetable only has a few modulators it's really not that big of an issue for me at least. Thanks for watching! :D
