It's interesting to see the similarities and differences of approach when you're doing these random table examples. When you were rolling up the bartender, for example, my thought was "Oh, this person may be a (lesser or deposed) noble. Or has worked for a noble, at the very least." and I imagined your standard trope of a retired adventurer running a standard tavern with touches of class. A minstrel with sharp eyes and a gentle demeanor playing quietly in the corner as they listen without appearing to. Surprisingly fit and demure bar maidens (possibly daughters or nieces) working the floor. Very clean and pleasantly lit. That sort of image. On the serf, I was mildly distracted by my food and so when you said, "possess" my immediate thought was, "No wonder he's so much stronger! He's possessed!" Then followed by "valor" it became, "Oh oh, right. Then he wants to become a knight. Done and done. He's been training hard, but still can't get where he wants to go." I think my favorite thing about watching solo LPs is seeing the ways a solo player interprets a situation and comparing it to my own. I feel like it exercises my creative muscles by showing me different ways to stretch them. So to speak.

@Klawzie Really enjoyed reading your own unique interpretations as Trevor was revealing his, and yes everyone will have their own thoughts and ideas which is the beautiful thing regarding these supplements. Everyone's interpretations will take their story into different directions, and yours were no less brilliant than his. Loved it!

Same ! For the "doubt history", it seemed evident to me that the serf simply didn't know about the adventurers and didn't want to send troublemakers to the castle😀. The possession idea is quite cool !

Thank you for this video. I bought ÜNE based on your recommendation back when Me, Myself and Die first started. It’s become one of my go-to supplements. I use it for virtually every game. It’s simply fantastic and good to see its capabilities highlighted. I may steal your insensitive serf, Sir Lost the Lot, as an NPC as some point.

Only just discovered you, but love your style and enthusiasm! I GM a few games but locked into those styles/systems due to the players. You've given me the confidence to play some solo games myself in other systems I'm interested in! If you want any ideas for future videos, I'd love it if you provided some resources for improv character voices (for my GM games, not my solo ones! Ha!). I'm sure some printable chart exists for randomly generating voices on tables (deep, nassely, whisper, fast, etc). I'd love to print a chart off for reference but can't find what I'm after anywhere! (Maybe they don't exist). Anyway! Keep it up. You're awesome🤘🤘

How do people find using these in a live group game? For solo play you can obviously take as long as you want and it's part of the fun to surprise yourself but I imagine trying to pull out a bunch of various tables clunky when trying to keep a game running with multiple people. Haven't tried it myself yet though I'm curious

Hey Trevor, I have been playing a bit of Ironsworn, but after being introduced to solo RPG's I am interested in trying another system solo. Perhaps Five Torches Deep, or Elemental... Anyhow, I remembered seeing this video a while back and picked up UNE. The author also did a GM emulator called CRGE. I picked it up because it was the same author as UNE, it was PWYW, and I read somewhere that it was similar to Mythic, but perhaps a bit more "modern". I am just wondering if you ever took a look at it and if so, what you thought and how it compares to Mythic. Also, if you are encountering a monster of some sort while playing solo, do you use UNE (or something else) to help determine its power level?

Ah! That explains why I never noticed a binary response option. Those numbers in our revised editions aren't for Yes/No at all... they are to determine the NPC's mood based on Relationship. It looks like the binary chart he covered isn't in our version.
