    Just bought this ruler and have made pineapple blocks before, similar method, but different tool. I read the directions and understood them. But, before using this ruler, I wanted to watch tutorials to fully understand the method. After watching other tutorials, yours is the most instructional and clear. There are some things that are not intuitive if your not an experienced quilter and you nailed it. Listing the odd/even square-up placement, counting rounds, and showing that strips didn’t need to be full length on most rounds. I really appreciate and enjoy your tutorials. Love the enthusiasm. Thanks for clear and complete instructions.

  • @jandenly

    @jandenly

    Lari Townsend I haven’t used this ruler yet, but it probably needs that little bit extra width of strip to accommodate and create the corners on each round. I think the 1.75” is the minimum width that would work.

Now, I just did a search, and out of 8 videos, there were only 4 without this specific ruler. But, 1 did have another ruler and the other only made a 7 inch block. 2 others were with FPP. 1 of them you had to BUY the FPP from FQS and I I didn't watch the other one as again, I was disappointed because it seemed like the same rabbit hole of purchases is the only way to make these blocks 🙄

Then I decided to go with the classic solids bought the mini love the blocks but ran out of colors because I made blocks both small and large. Then I was stuck. You been out of stock for months with this product. Going through my stash I found a charm and a skinny roll in the classic so im back on track again. Im so happy now and they are so cute in the classic colors. Cannot wait to do another one later down the road in something else like the old prints or baby. Jenny, after watching you do this block. I ordered the trim ruler from you. You made it look so little. I loved it and I'm a beginning quilter. Thanks for all that you do for your students. And thanks for always being real and showing us; that you too make mistakes and how to avoid them.

    I love your tutorials Jenny. I learned to quilt thru tutorials. You get right to the point and don't talk it to death...you teach well. I get braver and braver with what I try because you make it so easy. Helps that I am a visual learner.

    Wahoo. I purchased my pineapple trim tool, and it is fantastic. Yes labor intensive, I probably won't make a huge quilt. But I made a pineapple block after dreaming about it for many years. I also was breathless with excitement. Thank you.

    lol.....yes......another teacher had made a pattern for her audience for a lap/throw of the Pineapple Quilt......someone in her audience ask where is the queen size pattern.........she thought a second and said.....why would anyone WANT to make a queen size Pineapple quilt......lol it was funny....but she was pointing out how work intensive it is.....But she did not have this ruler so maybe it was even harder for her.......lol

    Thank you, Jenny! You are an absolute delight to watch and learn from! Your enthusiasm is so contagious and I learned something, too! I have always loved pineapple quilts, but they can be difficult without the correct tools!

    This tool is relaxing and fun to use. I made a baby quilt right away [for my future granddaughter]. It was a good way to practice with the tool with no stress. now to try it on a major project.
