I love this video!! The excitement is contagious. I absolutely love Jenny's personality!!
I don't have money for all these rulers!!!!! 😭😭😭 I wish there was a "library of rulers" where you can borrow them from for 2 weeks, then return.

I usually wait until I have a 50% off coupon and head to Joanne’s. I’ve gotten all of my rulers that way. Unfortunately, this ruler isn’t available there, and I’m sad 😒 about it.

OMG! Jenny! Your excitement is contagious! I would never have tried to make a pineapple block until now. Thank you so much!
I love it that you still get so excited about quilting!
Jenny Doan!! Your enthusiasm for quilting is contagious. I wish we were friends in real life. I love your tutorials, you make quilting accessible to everyone. Thanks for another great video.
Thank you, thank you, thank you! I watched the video from the designer and couldn't figure out how to cut round 3 to save my life. As usual, Jenny, you made it crystal clear. Your tutorials are the best!
Jenny you are a great instructor ! Not only do you have a way about you to show us all the best and easiest way to do a new block, your happiness and love of quilting is so infectious. Thanks for all you do !

Yes but how is it made without using "another" expensive ruler?
@carolynrecio4903

There are other tutorials on KZread making this quilt , without using " another " expensive ruler!
Jenny, I was so inspired by this quilt (and I already owned the pineapple trim tool) that I ordered the fabric right away. I decided to make 100 of the 10" squares, currently on round six. I can't be the only quilter in England to be taken with this design since every has sold out of this fabric!
I have a pile of 30's scraps and now I know what I will make with them. Such a fun quilt and once again, Jenny charms with her enthusiasm. 😊
Thank you for this video I just got my 12 inch pineapple square I can’t wait to get started you make it look so easy thank you
I love your tutorials. They inspire me to try because you make it so easy to follow along. I'm a visual learner and I'm able to replay portions of the KZread when necessary. Thank you so much for sharing you love of quilting.
I love that you pointed out your “booboo”, it makes us less experienced quilters know that we don’t have to drive ourselves crazy trying to attain perfection. Love your videos!!!
AMAZING! Who knew? Thank you soooo much for making beautiful (but very hard looking) quilts easy to do. I have always wanted to make a pineapple quilt but it, frankly, looked impossible. Thanks for your simple instructions and positive encouragement. You have no idea how great that is. (and you are!!) You are a treasure.
WOAH! every time I've seen a Pineapple block, I always thought, "wow - no way, that's too complicated" but Jenny oh Jenny! You made it look so easy and thank you to Creative Grids who helps this become a reality!
Just bought this ruler and have made pineapple blocks before, similar method, but different tool. I read the directions and understood them. But, before using this ruler, I wanted to watch tutorials to fully understand the method. After watching other tutorials, yours is the most instructional and clear. There are some things that are not intuitive if your not an experienced quilter and you nailed it. Listing the odd/even square-up placement, counting rounds, and showing that strips didn’t need to be full length on most rounds. I really appreciate and enjoy your tutorials. Love the enthusiasm. Thanks for clear and complete instructions.

how did this work with 1.5" strips. Says on the ruler to use at least 1.75 inch strips. what size strips did you use
@jandenly
4 жыл бұрын
Lari Townsend I haven’t used this ruler yet, but it probably needs that little bit extra width of strip to accommodate and create the corners on each round. I think the 1.75” is the minimum width that would work.
OMG, I bought these after seeing a few videos and I LOVE THEM! I agree, it looks like a mess and then the trim tool does its magic. So many ideas!!!!!
Never stingy, Jenny, you are frugal! And that is always a good thing!
Jenny, you are a pleasure to watch. Love your enthusiasm. I really did LOL when you said, " No one's gonna, say, you made a Boo-Boo.. " Just the way you said it, very funny. I have 2 Jelly Rolls I want to use for this. One is Batik and the other solid Charcoal. Thank you, for the great tutorials !
The thing I like the most about watching any of your videos is that I come away with confidence that I CAN DO THAT! (Also, I'm broke. I come away with less money in my bank, because I always buy the cool tools Jenny uses!) Thank you!

Yes, Corky! I feel the same way.
When I saw the quilt I thought "no way, too complicated. Don't care if Jenny figured it out." But her enthusiasm made me continue to watch. I think I can give this a try. Thank you for being real and saying you're not a perfect quilter. You give me confidence to try what looked like crazy complicated. Again. Love Jenny and her videos. Love the positive attitude.
Jenny, I absolutely LOVE your enthusiasm! Makes we want to run immediately and buy that ruler and make one of those quilts! Thank you again and again for making quilt making so approachable. Maybe, just maybe I can get through all my fabric in my lifetime ;)

It's because there aren't directions to do it without a $50 special ruler. Not everyone can afford fancy rulers

@@ceciliaschleicher278 My first quilt teacher said to me that it's good to run out of a color in your quilt or yarn project because it forces you to be more creative. Maybe that is the case here?

@@buzzyanderson4131 I think I get where you are going with that. But, it is discouraging when you are new, like me and want to make something but unable too just because there aren't instructions to do it without a fancy ruler. Now, I just did a search, and out of 8 videos, there were only 4 without this specific ruler. But, 1 did have another ruler and the other only made a 7 inch block. 2 others were with FPP. 1 of them you had to BUY the FPP from FQS and I I didn't watch the other one as again, I was disappointed because it seemed like the same rabbit hole of purchases is the only way to make these blocks 🙄
I have seen those Pineapple Quilts before, but I had no idea how they were made. Thank you for sharing this amazing how-to!
Always love pineapple techniques that don't require a paper piecing template. Much simpler, thank you.7
This pineapple quilt is perfect. The choice of beautiful bright fabrics simply makes it a real stunning piece or art. The other quilt using 30’s prints, simply adorable
Thank you so. check for this Jenny, the colour choices are inspiring. The Creative Grids ruler is fantastic but can be hard to read. You have made the instruction even easier than their website. I should know as I've cut off the wrong bit more than once by not reading the instructions properly. I'm definitely going to make this for my bed!
made a stunning king size quilt using this tutorial and the ruler. so impressive looking, but so easy!! Thank you Jenny for your amazing tutorials.
I just inherited all of my Mother's scraps, fabrics way back from the 50's, 60's, 70's and some 80's, this tutorial gave me inspiration to make a quilt ( maybe even a tiny one) from some of her fabrics! Love you Jenny!
Never the Center SEW TRUE Great Job
Jenny, I just love learning from you. You make me giggle and I don't feel like perfection is all there is. Thanks so much. 🤪🥰
Your video's are my ZIN...When I am down and depressed I watch you and your infectious attitude to feel better. Thank You.
i just love this tool, just finished a baby quilt ,now i am making a queen, fantastic way to use up all your scraps enjoying every minute
I absolutely LOVE this tutorial! Your enthusiasm is uplifting and exciting. Whenever I am having a down day, I pull up this tutorial and watch you make something beautiful and exciting. Thank you for your passion.
Beautiful quilts from the brights and the 30s fabric. Love you and your videos. You are great at simplifying everything. Thanks a bunch!

Love the bright pineapple block. You make it look so easy!
Oh man, that pineapple quilt pattern is usually a beast. Look at this! It's doable. I have more quilts to do than I will live to complete. I can't wait to do this one
The one hanging up looks just like a modern painting with all those beautiful, bright colors!
You re-lit my fire to pull out a batik pineapple quilt kit I've had stashed away for too long. I'm ordering the ruler - it will make it so much fun , and I won't be afraid of failing! Thank you, Jenny!
This really IS AMAZING! Lol. I ordered my supplies immediately. I thought, "Surely I can make nine squares for a baby quilt." This is perfect! I'm going to do the bright colours too. Thank you so much for all your hard work and sharing your brilliant ideas with us.
So much conviction! love it!
Jenny, your timing is perfect on this demonstration! I have recently purchased fabric (batiks) with the plan to make a Pineapple quilt. Thanks so much for being so thorough in showing how to use Creative Grid's pineapple ruler. I will note that I plan to use a four patch for my center squares as this is how I originally saw it made. Thanks again for the instruction and inspiration!!!

Jenny, you just keep getting better and better. Thank you.
Hi Jenny.... as a newbie to quilting, watching your video's have helped emmensely. I am taking a deep breath and going to attemp the Lemon star. Wish me luck.
I originally bought the big creative grid pineapple tool. Made several different colors. Everyone loved it. Then I decided to go with the classic solids bought the mini love the blocks but ran out of colors because I made blocks both small and large. Then I was stuck. You been out of stock for months with this product. Going through my stash I found a charm and a skinny roll in the classic so im back on track again. Im so happy now and they are so cute in the classic colors. Cannot wait to do another one later down the road in something else like the old prints or baby. Thanks for hooking me on to the pineapple grid. lol
Jenny your enthusiasm is infectious!
I made a pineapple pattern using paper piecing, this is much easier, wish I had seen this last year! As usual Jenny you have the best easiest tutorials to follow....thank you for the love of quilting which makes your tutorials so easy to follow!
I've been so intimidated by the pineapple block- this tutorial makes me feel I CAN DO IT! Thank you!
😊Jenny this is my favorite video on KZread. Thank you so much
Just love this quilt so once again you have made it so easy for every one to understand, Thank you once again for placing a smile on my face and making my day, And most of all for teaching me to quilt I have sewn all my life and thought I could never learn quilt till I found you on the net, at 71 thanks to you I now have been quilting for the past 2 years You remind me of a saying I have, a smile costs you nothing but brings so much happiness to so many, The one down side to finding you Jenny my stash of fabrics before I met you I thought was ginormous but now Wow it is out the window LOL you take care and I will keep on watching you lovely lady From one happy lady Australia
I just bought the ruler from you and what a huge difference it makes in the pineapple block. No problems anymore with the blocks turning wonky. Thanks for the tutorials.
I bought the tool and made a baby size scrappy one after watching this video. Not all my rows lined up even though my blocks were square so I think I still have some learning to do using the tool for trimming each round. But the top turned out pretty cute and will be a donation to our local pregnancy crisis center once I get it quilted.
I am addicted to making pineapple blocks after watching this video! The ruler makes it so easy and thank God for your tutorial. I got the pattern and was completely lost, your video save me!
Love love love this quilt! .. and love you too Jenny and your contagious enthusiasm. 🤗 I've been down with a "flare up" and lots of pain since Christmas. Laughter is very much a boost to healing. Thank you‼️ I hope you never lose your zest for life and keep spreading sonshine. ☀️😇
Wow! I definitely will try this. Thank you!!!!
I did it. Actually used Dollar Tree fabrics because I didn't want to ruin my good stuff. But I didn't ruin it. Watched you over and over to get it right.
This is one of my favorite videos. Your energy level 🎉makes me laugh. My most watched videos are the older ones. The newest ones are so planned, & -ilmed & kinda “strait laced”. Older ones are so much “spontaneous” & fun to watch.
Wow, that is one amazing ruler and how cool is it that it makes such a complicated looking block become achievable for us! Thank you for also showing the block in a variety of fabrics!!! You amaze me every week. Yayyyyy
This is precious....and I LOVE Jenny's enthusiasm! I've seen quilts like this and I couldn't figure out how they were made, but this is it!! That antique looking one is just darling!! Thanks so much for ALL your tutorials; you really inspire me!
So pretty!
Thank you for this video. I finally got the ruler. I am going to have to cut my strips.I ordered so many fat quarter sets and have never used them. Loved your excitement and enthusiasm!! I never thought I would try a pineapple quilt ever. Thank you.
I always love your tutorials Jenny. Now I am going to have to convince my husband that I need those rulers too. You are such an enabler LOL!!!!
Here in Northern Ohio where every other day is cloudy and dreary, I tune into this video and laugh with you and absorb your excitement at being able to make the amazing pattern. Thank you! You make my day!!
Thank you MSQC! I've had they ruler for about 3 years haha!! Now I have no excuse to put off making that block and quilt now!! I've never known how to use it before.
Your excitement is adorable. You convinced me, I'm excited to make my own pineapple quilt! I can't wait! You inspire me to challenge myself! Thank you!
I absolutely love this quilt. I, too, never would have attempted to make a Pineapple quilt, but now I know I can do it. Thank you!!
Jenny you did such a great job explaining each step and how to use the ruler at each step. Thank you so much.
I can see why you were so excited!! It's just a fun, fun block and soon different. I'm excited to try it with 30's scraps. I loved the look of that one!! Of course I love all your tutorials, but this one is fantastic!! Thanks Jenny!!!
I really like it when you bring in old quilt blocks!
Thank you. I never would have dreamed how to do this....it looked so complicated; now I know it isn't. I love your enthusiasm!! It's inspiring.
Jenny you were in your element making this block, its infectious and now I want to try it too. I have a jelly roll I have been waiting to use and this is the one to do! Thank you for your enthusiasm
That is exciting! Would never have tried this without your enthusiastic, clear, and easy instructions.
Jean you are a hoot. I love your excitement and enthusiasm. I love this quilt.
I have seen one using black instead of the white strips. It was really pretty too. I have been wanting to make one of these too. This is better than the paper piecing method I was looking at. No paper to mess with using this ruler! Thanks so much for sharing this with us!
I have been looking at pineapple quilt patterns this week and then wow you put a video on how to do it. Now I will use some of my stash to make one when I have finished the "two step" which I have enjoyed making.
Hi and thanks a million, Jenny, for another great tutorial on another fabulous quilt! I understand your enthusiasm about this ruler! And I love the way you share your expertise! I have been sewing for a year and I’m making my first quilt right now. Thanks to all your tutorials I have been watching in the last two years, you have made me realize that I can do it! Thanks a lot. 😎🌸 Please, show the backing next time. I love to see what fabric was used for it. Thanks!
Hi Jenny, what a very beautiful quilt! You are fun to watch, as well as being informative! Thanks for the time you take to help people with your tutorials, or just be an amazing company to those of us who can no longer stitch! xxx
Argh! My list of quilts I want to make because of you has taken over my house! 😄
For ONE YEAR I lived in fear of my Creative Grids Pineapple ruler...until this video! I justade my first block. Thanks, Jenny!
You crack me up! You get so excited and have such positive energy! Love it
I have watched many pineapple block videos & have nearly lost the will ! This one Jenny made me go OMG ! I can do this ! I ordered everything & know I have I'll have to wait 3 weeks for it all to arrive to me in Australia but it'll be here in time for my birthday on the 26 th ! I'm so excited to get started ! Thank you Jenny for another great video ! Xxxx
Love your energy and excitement Jenny.....I was always scared of this block until you showed me how simple it can be. Thank you!
Thank you mam for your lovely patchwork. I love it very much. I will try this.
Jenny, after watching you do this block. I ordered the trim ruler from you. You made it look so little. I loved it and I'm a beginning quilter. Thanks for all that you do for your students. And thanks for always being real and showing us; that you too make mistakes and how to avoid them.
absolutely LOVE the scrappy one!
I love your tutorials Jenny. I learned to quilt thru tutorials. You get right to the point and don't talk it to death...you teach well. I get braver and braver with what I try because you make it so easy. Helps that I am a visual learner.
Wahoo. I purchased my pineapple trim tool, and it is fantastic. Yes labor intensive, I probably won't make a huge quilt. But I made a pineapple block after dreaming about it for many years. I also was breathless with excitement. Thank you.

lol.....yes......another teacher had made a pattern for her audience for a lap/throw of the Pineapple Quilt......someone in her audience ask where is the queen size pattern.........she thought a second and said.....why would anyone WANT to make a queen size Pineapple quilt......lol it was funny....but she was pointing out how work intensive it is.....But she did not have this ruler so maybe it was even harder for her.......lol
I just love this design it's so beautiful
Just got my ruler. I never thought I’d be able quilt at all, let alone a pineapple block. Thank you, Jenny!
I love that you can use scraps, so minimal waste.
Thank you, Jenny! You are an absolute delight to watch and learn from! Your enthusiasm is so contagious and I learned something, too! I have always loved pineapple quilts, but they can be difficult without the correct tools!
Working on this now and it's working great just like you have shown . 1 1/2 strips work great. You are right you cannot mess it up . Thanks
OMGosh! I LOVE THIS!! I too HAD the same thought process for the Pineapple pattern! I'll be doing it now! Thank you Jenny LOVE LOVE LOVE
This tool is relaxing and fun to use. I made a baby quilt right away [for my future granddaughter]. It was a good way to practice with the tool with no stress. now to try it on a major project.
